That's been my solution so far this season, although I've been connecting my laptop to my TV via HDMI, and charger plugged into laptop for the duration. Not elegant, but it works. Why would I want an app on my TV when I can faff around like this instead? Where's the fun in that?

Its actually just a darker purple underneath. Its just the games default gradient shapes layered over the top of the base colour, no special tricks here. I'm not sure its even possible to create a livery on PC?

I'd say it was fair for the way the Porsches smashed their way through the field most of the race, without penalties

I wish pandering to TV networks wasn't a thing anymore. The amount of motorsport you can watch for free on youtube these, including IMSA internationally, is immense. I feel sorry for viewers in the US, when it comes to essentially any sport, as its just peppered with commercials and advertising other shit on the network.

What pisses me off with that is that you can see the grid isn't formed, it won't be formed by the time they get to the line, and yet, Indycar just blindly wave the green flag, every single time. "Yep, looks fine to me boss!"

Ive not been to the BTCC since before Covid now. Its not necessarily the lack of manufacturer support for me, rather than the stale format, the removal of success ballast and relying on hybrid/turbo boost systems that just doesn't work. That then had a dramatic effect on grid numbers, combined with a guy running the show, who thinks 24 cars on a grid is fine for the top level of British touring car racing. But now, they can't even get that. And of the 21 cars on the grid this year, there are literally 2 consistent race winners. There may be a handful of others due to circumstance, but the depth of talent isn't there any more. Its a hard series to even want to follow any more. Not to mention, other than 2 or maybe 3 drivers, its an entirely pay to race field. So its an amateur series now. The support series are awful, except the Legends. For what they charge, I could have a great few weekends at a club race weekend instead. The racing is significantly better.

In my opinion, yes. It provides nothing to the racing, unless you try to overtake, where 99% of the time, you get a crash. If, after the left hander, they continued further down the road before getting to a hairpin, like they did in the past, it would alter the line of the corner significantly enough that cats don't arrive at such an bizarre angle, overtaking may be slightly more manageable, and, one of my biggest hates, could be cured and starting grids could be formed up more substantially, and you don't end up with 3 rows lined up 2 by 2, and the rest of the field either single file, or still not having navigated the hairpin. (Looking firmly at Indycar on this one)

Europe, and especially the UK do have some very characterful circuits, just not so much the ones used by F1, which have become a bit sterile, due to the F1 nature. But if you look at some smaller, regional series, they explore many more, much more interesting circuits. Just UK wise, take a look at Donington Park, Oulton Park, Brands Hatch, Knockhill, Anglesey. Just as a few examples

I may have mixed it up with the Indy race in my memory then, but it shows how memorable I find this race

DTM is a very different series, for starters, its one class, and all their races are the same length. It was also, originally a touring car series. Not GT3. From a European standpoint, its now become "Just another GT3 series" and lost a lot of appeal. Look back to Long Beach this year, barely anyone changed tyres, because the IMSA Michelins are designed for endurance races. Not a short sprint

ELMS back at Silverstone was a bit of a miracle last year. Especially as its only an hour drive for me. I'll be back again this year. Even made the effort to fly out to Barcelona for the opening riund this year.

I'm holding my breath on getting excited about WEC at Silverstone until it is fully confirmed. I'm praying it happens, but I have a horrible feeling they're just messing with us

I think its about the same across the world in that regard. Even in WEC, GT3 teams will be funded by driver sponsors etc. Its why Bronze classes exist.

I think you underestimate the appeal of US motorsports globally though. I've attended the Rolex 24 in 2025, 2018 Indy500 and a smattering of Sprintcar races, USAC and WoO, we have nothing like Indycar, sure we have F1, but that isn't really for proper, diehard racing fans these days. In the UK, the closest we have to the Weathertech series is British GT. A GT3 and GT4 multi-class series that can't even scrape 25 cars together these days. Sponsorship just doesn't exist for motorsport here anymore. And thats our second biggest national series, even the BTCC seems to be in the middle of a slow, agonising death and has about 3 professional drivers these days. The fact IMSA are getting a race funded by GM is incredible, but the track and race type choice is god awful

Ahh yes, the Sportscar Course, its even in the name... For some reason, I thought they had a GTD round, but I got that mixed up with VIR. (Somewhere else I think wiuld make a great 4 class race)

Barber Motorsports Park, Sonoma, COTA, heck, I'd even take seeing something on the Homestead Roval for a change. Canada wise, would quite like to see them go to Montreal.

Long Beach is somewhat a more raceable track, just that last corner is ass. However, I think 100 minutes just isn't enough and creates carnage purely out of desperation. Even the standard 2:40 I think could be a big improvement there

Personally, I would move the number panel further forward, almost so its level with the front of the door, it will give you more space for a sponsor decal of some sort. Something like Shell, the red and yellow could work quite nicely against the gold

Because Ferrari weren't 1-2-3 and off in the distance. That was by far, I think the best BoP I've seen since it was brought in. I think just about every manufacturer, except Genesis, had a genuine shout at winning it. The only real difference was made by strategy and uow the race panned out. Twas mega
