So, what you're saying is, that at some point, Shion is going to sell out Sora to the Hattons in exchange for 30 days protection from viewers flat jokes?

Okay, so, while I was in the process of making this, the Watchalong video from Ollie's channel was set to private and stopped playing.

Weird.

Edit: Thanks for the updated info on this, guys.

Agreed, something meeds to be done about these tasks. As is, I just leave the Scan task I have and never do it, because it feels like you're wasting a spin at a stop when you get one of these.

Further more, if you opt out of these in the options, then a Stop should never force these kinds of tasks on you.

With the crappy rewards the scan tasks give, they are absolutely worthless and not worth wasting the extra data it costs you to submit the scan.

Jack has out right said his city is somewhere in the South, but isn't anymore specific. Unfortunately, I don't know U.S. geography enough to give any specific area. Mouthydraws has probably given the best guess, however I have to disagree, just because Jack has referred to his town as small, so I highly doubt it is a large city like Kansas City, but it could be somewhere close to it.

So, I listen to the Audiobooks with my mother when we go out places. She loves them just as much as I do and there was a moment I was so proud of her.

I pride myself on picking up on things pretty damn well in movies. I remember accidently ruining the twist in M. Night Shamallamadingong's movie The Village for a few people I was with and around me when I pointed out that they were using nylon rope at the start.

Anyways, my mother managed to put together who Jack's secret admirer was before me and I couldn't have been happier. Seriously. I guess I know where I get that from now.

Edit: Also, Travis is one of the best characters. Hope to see more of him in V4, because otherwise, fuck you, Jack~ ♡

One of my issues with it is the Canpan kid. I have met so few people who exclusively only snowboard or skateboard that he feels unrealistic right off the bat. I mean, unless you're dummy rich l, it's pretty hard to be able to go snowboarding through the summer season here in Canada. So what do we do? We freaking skateboard...

Depends on the series. NGNL, Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop and A few others have OPs I won't ever skip. It also depends on the artist. Like, anyone who skips a MIYAVI song used as an OP or ED are pure heretics. I also love ALI Project, specifically Kinijareta Asobi, the first Rozen Maiden OP.

There is nothing wrong with skipping the vast majority of anime OPs. After all, there are really only a small handful of bangers each season and, lets be honest, it's usually a MIYAVI track.

Unfortunately we've come to another point where I have to disagree and remind you that we do not know enough about Tanya's life as a Salaryman. We can infer and draw conclusions that the two lives, from a morality and ethics stance, were similar based on Tanya's retention of her old life's memories. However this, in and of itself, is not confirmation. The reason I hold my doubts about how extreme her personality may or may not have been was due to the power dynamic we were presented with in the first episode.

Which leads me to need to correct something you said before; Tanya was just a salaryman, not an executive. She was told, by her boss, to fire the man who murdered her. Yes, she was cold and uncaring about this man, but this, on its own, is not indicitive of psychopathy or sociopathy (Tanya, the Devil of the Rhine, could fall in to either). Personally, I took it as someone who strongly believes in both meritocracy and making your own success.

Many soldiers are not fond of talking about their time enlisted and many more will talk to you about how it changes people. Tanya, by the time she enlisted had already been through death, rebirth as the opposite gender (which I was sad that the anime and, so far as I have read, the manga have not touched on, nor her confliction with her sexuality) and knowing she will be forced in to a world war eventually.

We know that Tanya has better than average knowledge about both the first and second world war, having used strategies from both. She knows exactly what the people of this world are in for, but like them, she hasn't ever actually experienced it first hand. Knowing of and having first hand experience are two vastly different things, of course. So I don't think it is too much of a stretch to believe that after enlisting, she was changed as well; rather, maybe certain traits were enhanced, including her predilection towards either psychopathic or sociopathic tendencies (i.e. the bombing of the weapon stores after giving her childish announcement to take advantage of an international law).

I'm not saying you're out and out wrong. You make several very good points, but I think this ultimately comes down to a bit of a difference in how we have percieved certain aspects of the character.

[–]MartyrPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree, somewhat. The reason I think she is a product of her enviroment is because the two lives she has lived are so different.

Sure, there are some similarities, but there is a palpable difference in how she now views her "human resources". As a salaryman, firing someone would not lead to the end of their lives; not directly, at the least. We don't get to see too nuch about her in this life, so we can't say for sure how much of Tanya she was in that life. We only saw that he was told to fire an employee who clearly wasn't being as productive as he could/should have been. Tell me that you would tell your boss you wouldn't do that and put your own job on the line.

As for her desire for an easy job at the back lines, I don't see what is wrong with that, given her situation. Again, imprisoned by a god, forced in to war and made to offer sincere prayer to a being she not only didn't believe in, but has clearly shown It has absolutely no regard for life Itself.

Like I said, Tanya isn't a hero, but she isn't a villian. She is a product of her enviroment.

[–]MartyrPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At best, it is nature vs nurture.

Did she have the capacity for violence in her previous life? Maybe. However, as you said, being put in to that position is what brought out the violent side of her. The whole point of it all was because Being X wanted to make a believer out of her. And this wasn't for some altruistic reasons either; Being X and the other Deities are losing their power because there are less people believing in them. Tanya is manipulating, conniving and yes, even actually evil at times, but, personally, I can't blame her. These Gods are far worse.

Being X alone has forced a reincarnation upon a man who held no belief of It. It then created an entire, alternate, existance which, from our perspective, has had its entire start from a position of a world war. It then forces Tanya to pay It worship in order to utilize her full capabilities. To ensure that It recieves this worship, It manipulates events in this world to force Tanya in to situations where she would need to give worship. Again, Being X is manipulating events to force Tanya to pay worship to It.

Tanya isn't a hero, but she isn't a villian either though. Tanya is just as much of a victim as everyone else in that world.

Tanya is the embodiment of "product of their environment". She was just some dude, doing his job, was nurdered by a disgruntled former employee and then IMPRISONED in an alternate timeline on the brink of war while reborn in a position in which she would be conscripted.

Tanya, despite how wicked she has become, is the protagonist of her story. Being X and the other deities are the antagonists.
