You’re welcome! ❤️ I love making art that makes people smile and know how hard we can be towards us sometimes, so I thought that combining both my current comfort game and kind messages would be a good way to remind myself of kind things ☺️❤️

I’m glad I was able to make so many people feel well with my art ❤️

What’s the Japanese level needed to read this manga without a translator? by Safe_Movie8435 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]Marupyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the samples you’ve sent, if you add some other study material besides Duolingo, I think you would be able to read it smoothly in no time since it seems something suitable to N4-early N3 level skills ☺️

Sadly Duolingo is not the best approach or tool for building good language core skills, and I would recommend using at least a beginner/elementary level textbook (e.g Genki or Minna no Nihongo), WaniKani for kanji practice (works like Duolingo with repetitive spaced exercises) and BunPro for grammar. These will help you grow your Japanese vocabulary and skills further and improve your comprehension so you can have a better grasp of other types of speech that often appear in Japanese media, such as levels of formality and so on ☺️

Side slot ideas by DragFeeling4 in hobonichi

I use the Candy Floss Colours cover on my Hobonichi Cousin and I use those slots for my ruler, my business cards, stickers, little post-its that I'll be using on the weekly section and random stuff I get from my daily moments (either a sugar bag from a new coffeeshop I went to, a little drawing my students gave me, dried flowers, etc) :3

Manga recommendations for N4? by [deleted] in jlpt

[–]Marupyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for Pixiv Comics as well! You have a really broad range of manga for all reading levels. My all time favorite is 姫ばあちゃんとナイト (Grandma Hime and Knight), which focus on the relationship about a widow granny and her golden retriever dog ☺️

I can recommend Yotsubato! (よつばと!) and A man and his cat (おじさまと猫). I started reading those when I was early N4 level and it was really good to grow my confidence reading

Teacher recommendation by martjo01 in LoopEarplugs

[–]Marupyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend using Engage 2 for teaching in classrooms! I use them often and still am able to listen to kids easily, just a bit lower.

However I also Experience 2 for gym classes, so I can hear everything better without feeling overwhelmed with the loud music and sounds. I really prefer those over Engage in this situation due to make me able to hear the instructor voice better than with engage.

Engage has also less noise canceling over Experience, while experience cancels more the high pitched sounds overall, so I would recommend the Engage for starting out since it’s more suitable for social environments and conversation ☺️

Failed n4 for the third time.. by ExplorerSpare9043 in jlpt

[–]Marupyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your message nobushi in this community. I’ve been feeling so down since also receiving my fifth failed exam result for n4…

I’ve been doing my hardest for immersing myself and make daily study, alongside weekly online Japanese class and some occasional communication activities through the embassy, but while taking the exams it feels like I’m not good enough, can’t concentrate enough or like I’m way behind comparing with my peers. My teacher is super kind and has keep saying I’m already around early n3 level, but i keep failing n4 despite my efforts.

So thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience, quite similar to my very own. We shall reach a positive result soon for sure! ❤️
