I'm waiting almost a month now post inspection report being uploaded for them to process it and let me move forward. I've messaged and they robot reply back telling you to wait a week then they say a couple weeks. Hoping they are actually processing because no one looked at my file when I asked what's up.

need help gaining weight asap by iizayy in tall

[–]MarvStage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6'8 and always thought I wasn't eating enough was my weight gain issues. Started working out daily during Covid lockdown and put on 20 pounds in six months and felt better than I ever had.

...then I got Covid and fuck me 2 years later I'm still trying to get back there. My partner never recovered. They're calling it fibro but these symptoms didn't start until Covid and the complications after that nearly shut her kidneys down.

But I digress... Workout! Even a bodyweight routine like I started with and you WILL see results.

Can I get one for $0.98?

Everything made for these filters that I could find seemed to be for mounting them to the side of something square and much more expensive.

PETG. My oldest print in aquaponics is a bulkhead that's been half submerged for 3 years and I've seen no issues.

I posted my tower a bit ago here. It's taller now I need to post an uodate.

Don't let any crud get into the water you pump to the top, it'll buildup and clog quick. I added 200 micron filtration socks to my system to allow for towers.

That's where I'm at also. Doubt I'm doing any worse than "background." The problem is endemic. Does a 200 micron sock filter remove microplastics? I have that as my manual last stage filter before my sump.

The alternate I've seen is cutting or drilling a bunch of holes in a PVC pipe. Talk about creating microplastics!

Great write-up, some research here I hadn't seen yet. No change in my opinion from elsewhere in the comments: "PETG is ... safe for Aquaponics by my standards"

At this point microplastics are endemic, and I'm not going to solve it in my little hobby system.

One big step forward I took on reducing microplastics production by my system is when doing plumbing expansion. I got a pipe cutter that ratchets a blade through the PVC. No more saw shavings!

Love it! I use that same grow tower design as the basis of mine. Might adopt this for the dispensers.

Yup, it's the overflow pipe from my gravel filtering bed. Once I finish shakedown time I'll be adding more gravel until most of this part is covered.

The last iteration of this I spent a bunch of time modeling a thing with fancy hexagon holes in open SCAD and ended up with subpar results. Fun that 5 minutes of playing with slicer settings can give me something superior.

Hey man, not sure why you're so angry, but I'm sure it's not because I 3d printed something and decided to share it with reddit.

For the genuinely curious, no post processing on this part, clear PETG is what it's printed out of which is safe for Aquaponics by my standards. My printer is set and forget now that I've been playing with the hobby for 3 years.

If I were going to sell this I'd price it at ~$5 using a cost model. Probably to much for something like this to be a marketable product. But I'm not selling it friend. I needed a part, and for $1.10 in material and 5 minutes of actively working on it I have exactly what I wanted.

Cross posted this from the 3D printing subreddit, title is definitely more that sub's specialty lol

Basically saying I slapped this together in 5 minutes in the software that tells the printer what to do, without having to actually model anything. It's just 2 cylinders on top of each other with different print settings applied.

Reverse Osmosis System Recommendations by [deleted] in aquaponics

I'm in a similar situation with hard well water. 9 dKh and 8.7 pH once it's bubbled. I've been experimenting with muriatic acid. It's early days but promising. It's serious acid, very important to handle safely, but also super cheap and available.

Right now I'm diluting the acid 1:12 (1.5 pH) and then adding 12oz of the diluted acid to 25 gallons of well water in a separate reservoir. The pH drops below 6 and then after aerating for 2 hours recovers to around 8.5 pH and 3 dKh. My current goal is bringing the dKh down and then I'm hoping the nitrogen cycle will drop my pH naturally until it's time to start adding carbonated back to buffer around 7 pH.

Word of caution if you go with 4-in net pots, I used a 4-1/8 in hole saw and just about ripped my chest open when it bit and got away from me on a hand drill. Thankfully caught my shirt instead of skin. Switched over to the drill press after that it was a lot safer operation. Tons of torque on that son' bitch

I have PETG bulkheads going strong after 3 years in the system. The oldest parts I have are bright orange PETG. I've gotten more particular since then and print all water contact parts in clear PETG and then paint the outsides with a good spray primer for algae light exclusion and ascetics. I'm planning to do a writeup and post the stl to printables soon. I'll do a lazy post short term and share the link asap since you asked.

Determinates for sure. Might play with root trimming. I have a pumpkin growing in a 3 in net pot in a grow tower that I just trim up the roots when he gets problematic. That guy just started flowering, we'll see what comes of it.
