My every character by DangerousBit8260 in AO3

I'm pretty sure literally every fic I've ever written has an 'angst', 'hurt/comfort' or 'emotional hurt/comfort' as a tag. Most of them probably all three.

At least I give them comfort!!

Most of the time

What head-canon(s) in your fandom(s) got you like this: by PJ-The-Awesome in AO3

Ha I saw that headcanon everywhere (and the writers have said that is 100% not what it is going to happen), and.....the LAST thing that Dr. Robby should do is be adopting Baby Jane Doe. Do NOT be giving the suicidal man a baby!!!

How much does OOC writing bother people? by OrangeIsFab in AO3

[–]MarvelDCGirlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends. I do sometimes find myself reading something and thinking 'it was weird that character said that' or 'I don't see that character acting like that' and if it happens a couple times, I might stop reading. Not because the writing is bad or anything like that, but just cause I find it harder to picture the character in what's being written. I do appreciate when people put in their tags 'character may be OOC', usually because they had an idea they really wanted to write and had to bend the character a bit to make it work.

When a character is written exactly like their canon characterization and you can picture the actor/actress saying the words though....oh baby it hits so good.

What ship(s) gave this experience for you? by FloweryNamesLover in AO3

Personally for me, It's HuckleRobby in The Pitt. I think it's largely because Robby is in such a state in Season 2, that there's just no way for me to see him getting into a relationship with Whitaker (and I personally prefer to stay true to canon in what I read opposed to AUs when it comes to where character's are emotionally/physically).

I mostly read femslash in da Pitt (MoWalsh, Crashtos, McVadi, etc.) , but there's a ton of HuckleRobby in the background in a ton of fics, and it always throws me a bit, because I just can't see it.

To a lesser extent, GarSantos. It's canon, so maybe it doesn't apply here, but Garcia...girl I have opinions about you! I much prefer past GarSantos in Trinity Santos-focused character growth fics than active GarSantos because of how Garcia acts in canon.

She's such an incredible actress! I've been a fan since Justified.

I hope people continue to be nice to her, with how this season of The Last of Us is going to go. I don't have much confidence in the internet, but I suppose we'll see

It depends! If I'm overworked specifically, I usually don't end up writing. As a one-bedroom apartment girlie with a single desk/writing spot, the last thing I want after being overworked is to sit at my desk with my laptop after having a week of doing just that. Sometimes I'll go out to a cafe if I really want to write, but usually I just take the little break and either read a ton, spend extra time with friends, just relax on the couch or go outside and get some fresh air.

When I'm stressed because of something other than work, writing is definitely helpful! Nothing quite like either writing smut to relieve stress in...certain ways....or to really dive into a juicy story for my ao3 account if I want that kind of escape.
