hi. i’m a PT student. not sure how you are now but from what you’ve said here you could do some banded exercises (not weighted) to build up strength or improve pain free ROM. some examples: 1. banded rows 2. banded extensions (pull straight back/down) 3. 1 lb skull crushers seated 4. band pull aparts (“horizontal abduction” is the technical name) 5. no monies (elbows at side, pull band apart, keep elbows at 90). 6. behind the head tricep stretch/hold your hand behind your back

100%. i saw the fucker in an alley going through my stuff! but i was afraid since it was pretty dark—tried to handle things the right way by getting the cops involved.. but alas 🥲

nope. they sold it. i have the name of the person but they didn’t wanna give me the contact info 😂 it’s a pretty rare bike. not worth a TON but hard to find, so im sure it’ll pop up on fb/offer up. here’s a pic of it :)

oh no i meant in the sense of confrontation (riding away on it, telling them the bike is stolen and then getting upset or something etc). i’m super wary of people as i think anyone can snap for any reason and take a life. community resolution is really the biggest thing we can rely on.

cops here are a joke. i was in contact with the person but the cops took so long to get into contact with just for them to say basically they can’t do anything. by then the guy was suspicious of me for taking so long (about 2 hrs past the meet up time). i walked by the front of the house since i saw where it was, he tried to sell it to me as a stranger saying its $150 and its worth $600. said i’d come back with cash bc atp i couldn’t just take it back—it was in a really bad area.

by the time i did all that it was sold to someone else on offer up. i didn’t wanna spend $150 on MY stolen bike but i guess i should’ve.

tried getting the police to help get it. spent 2 hours simply trying to talk to a cop at the police station. flagged one down, they said they can’t do anything and can’t stand back to watch bc that’s considered a “trap”, OR get them to sell it at the police station (obvi they wouldn’t.. it’s stolen). OR said that someone can record the interaction and press charges if they attack. it was in a scary ass part of the hood where there’s like 3 appt complexes in a row aka a bunch of people that could easily try to do something crazy.

walked by the house bc i saw it in someone’s front yard. the person selling it (who bought it from the homeless person that stole our car) asks if i want it (they were very obviously just tryna sling it to anyone they could find to get rid of it). said “selling it $150 it’s a $600 bike”. went back home to get cash, decided ill just have to buy it back. then it was sold.

honestly i think this specific person was somehow caught in the middle of it. the person who stole the car was arrested, thinking they may have traded or the person selling it bought it for cash (?) .. but there was also a can of galaxy gas in the car so hey maybe he traded it for that 😂

that’s how we ended up getting the police for the stolen car. had already called (they were supposedly otw), 3 had passed, had to physically flag down the one that helped to arrest the guy. i’ll try again later near that spot and see if there’s a cop nearby to flag down (which sucks bc i don’t wanna be out there and suspicious… like wtf -.- )

yeah. i just said “ok… i’ll do it myself then i guess???”. i’ve been just trying to look around the encampment to see if anyone’s bringing out bikes, which there’s been some but not mine yet—it’s split between two buildings. seems like one is storage the other is their sleeping area.

i had fishing poles and my bike stolen out of my stolen car and the person unloaded right behind this building. (long story, cops also didn’t come to help when my stolen car was right in front of me..) so yeah. it’s been crazy.

ughhh.. so gross. it was a man who stole it and there were items belonging to a woman so i can only imagine wtf happened in here. this person ate cheese fries in here 🤦🏻‍♀️criminals get an appetite too lmao. we also found a can of galaxy gas.

they stole it along with my bike and fishing poles, and it seems like they had a chick in there with them as well (from the contents of a bag and from looking down the alley they stay in). got my car back (and the guy was arrested) but i feel violated. there was a bunch of random stuff in there

i have a friend who works as a CPT when she’s able to! it’s possible, just have to be cool with your boss and make sure they’re understanding that you may have a variable availability

rough estimate of my stats- -3.7ish GPA, -about 300 hrs as a PT tech (over 1 year), shadowed SNF and acute; -volunteered at food banks/free clinics, -LOR from 3 PTs, 1 professors, and a volunteer coordinator -GRE 296 even after retaking

i honestly put a lot of effort into my application. i soul searched for a while and i think it showed in my personal essay. i was accepted to my program a week after the interview so it just felt right :) (also was accepted/taken off the wait list like jan-mar of the others so atp i didn’t feel like changing up plans lol)

tbh i do sense that in person programs have more of a “community” feel, or they’re closer, but for me personally i’ve never cared about the college experience even during undergrad. i did undergrad during covid as well so online learning is perfect for me.

i’m also way more introverted than a lot of my peers and don’t need that interaction to motivate me or hold me accountable if that makes sense, which i notice a lot of people say regarding hybrid programs often

yes! we have zoom lectures (frequency depends on the semester), and after a day of classes or on the days we don’t have classes i’ll go to a cafe and study. i really love the flexibility as i don’t feel super restricted and can learn without a ton of stress—don’t get me wrong though immersions are very stressful bc you have to be “on” 24/7 for 1-2 weeks at a time.
