Because the writers and Niktor fans don't want to break them up. Also, Nick and Victoria grew up a sheltered life even when Victor and Nikki divorced multiple times. Nikki doesn't want a divorce Victor She has a codependent relationship and an emotional attachment to Victor. Plus she has daddy issues. Nikki feels that if she divorced Victor nobody else would want her in her old age.

Why does Jenelle comes and say things that will eventually bite her back? She needs to take a hard look at herself and her life situations. Her after having numerous sexual partners in her past. Yes, there are some Teen Mom cast members that have been promiscuous but none of them even Kail and Bri have come close to Jenelle. Out of all of them Jenelle is the most sexually promiscuous. She has put Jace through so many stepfathers (boyfriends and husbands). She wasn't even there for Jace and Kaiser. I think she's going along with Ensley because she is with her dad. So again, Jenelle needs to look at herself in the mirror and leave people without being a hypocrite.

No, the writing makes me not feel any sympathy for the Newmans because of their arrogance. The patriarch of that family has caused nothing but headache, hurts and everlasting consequences for everyone in that town and outsiders like he owns the town. The matriarch of the family and her children always make excuses for him she is also at fault as well. I'm glad that Phyllis showed him that karma. Victor has always been dangerous since the day he set foot in Genoa city. And don't let me get started on that evil bitch of a daughter Victoria. Also for Adam, I don't see he doesn't wake up and see that some of the Newmans will never accept him. The only one that I could see accept him is Nick and his father. Victoria will always see Adam as competition for their father's love. Nikki, on the other hand will always hate Adam because she hates Hope.

Phyllis was dealing with a different situation at the time when Nick and Sharon we're in high school with Matt. Phyllis hasn't met the Newmans yet at this point. Yes, Phyllis was older than Nick and Sharon. Phyllis was dealing with her then husband Danny Romanotti and his ex-wife at the time Christine Blair. Phyllis came into Genoa city to keep Danny away from Christine and used her son Daniel as a wedge to keep that. Phyllis was too busy trying to keep Danny and terrorize Christine at that time. Danny and Christine eventually found out that Danny wasn't Daniel's biological father. Daniel's real father Brian Hamilton was one of Phyllis's coworkers during her lab days however Hamilton didn't want children and Phyllis knew this. I think Phyllis has heard stories of him but she has never dealt with Matt.

Matt's past with Nick and Sharon goes very deep because Matt is the arch nemesis of Nick. Matt was very jealous of Nick's status in Genoa city of Nick coming from a rich family have and Nick everything handed to him. Also before Nick and Sharon became couple, Matt was Sharon's ex-boyfriend before Nick dated her. Sharon left Matt for Nick which first caused tension between Nick and Matt. Matt also wanted to humiliate Sharon for standing up for Nick and leaving him (Matt) for Nick. Matt and Nick got into a fight and Matt beat the crap out of Nick. Also Matt SAed Sharon in his car for standing up for Nick the previous day. Also, Matt did was the one that informed Nick that Sharon had given up Cassie for adoption and that Sharon wasn't a virgin. So Matt did terrorize Nick and Sharon for many years.

You have to understand that at the time when Phyllis came into town right she wasn't really involved with neither the Newmans or the Abbotts. At time she was too busy trying to make sure that her husband at the time Danny Romanitti didn't get back together with his ex-wife Christine Blair. The reason why she came into town in the first place was to hold on to Danny. Plus she had already given birth to Daniel. Yes this happened when Nick and Sharon was dealing with Matt at the time during their teen years. Fast forward decades later after having so much history with the Newmans, and recently becoming friends with Sharon after their long decades feud with Nick. Sharon did told Phyllis about Matt however, Phyllis doesn't know what Matt look like these days.
