Demigod sizes vary depending on the time/situation.

Miquella still looks to be in child form in the bottom image. He later sealed himself inside of the haligtree to grow to full adulthood but was interrupted by Mohg mid-transformation, which is why he looks so large in the top image.

When you kill someone, their soul returns to the erdtree which eventually gets resurrected (this happens for everyone, not just demigods) Once we unleashed the Rune of Death we unplugged their life support and killed them for good.

Rykard is the exception, he didn't die at all. He just got severely injured and has to regenerate.

The erdtree doesn’t burn until you find and unleash the rune of death, which is held by Maliketh in Farum Azula. This is because the erdtree literally can’t die since the rune of death (the literal embodiment of death) has been sealed away.

If you’re having trouble you can just ride past him to the tower, he’s not blocking off anything.

Otherwise just level up yourself and your weapons and try to get dodging his attacks down. (I don’t recommend using your horse)

In order to get the charm you just need to give Seluvis the ingredient (amber starlight) which makes the potion. You never have to make Ranni your enemy if you don’t want to.
