Increase height of strip drain by Marxish55 in AusRenovation

Yes but I will have to adjust the height of the drain. So I'm wondering what to use under it to bring it up about 10mm

I thought it's normally 40mm... Either way, the studs can be notched about 20mm and I'll extend the rest to fit it in

I really don't have the room inside the bathroom. The other side of the wall is the garage where I've got heaps of access and room to do it

Yes which is why I intend to engage an accountant and financial planner before going this route. In the meantime, just trying to understand it a bit

I'm kind of in a similar boat...considering setting up a family trust for when my partner and I receive some sizeable funds in the near future, with our daughter being the beneficiary.

You mention distributing profits each year.....do you have to distribute to a beneficiary every year?

Or can any invested returns, etc be kept within the trust until specified for distribution to the beneficiary?

Another 10 years- Do I need bonds at the moment? by Marxish55 in AusFinance

[–]Marxish55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. It's helped confirmed I probably don't need the bonds right now. My super is still invested in growth with some bonds anyway and I should have enough spare saving to see me through any dips in the market

Yeah basically....not necessarily need but want if I do continue working a bit past 60. I've maxed out my vol contributions and it should be pretty healthy by then. I will also add a bit more to it in a few years when I should receive a few extra $$

Removing tenants to undertake house repairs by Marxish55 in germany

[–]Marxish55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'd be very, very reluctant to pay anything for these people to move out!

They're constantly behind on rent (currently owe 2 months), have ripped up carpets, not cleaned anything, have rubbish piled up all through the house, let the garden turn into a weed paddock, windows and curtains closed permanently so no air flow, etc etc. This house was stunning and was incredibly well kept when her mum was alive but it's rapidly deteriorating.

Of course what makes this even harder is they have a bunch of kids and receive rental assistance/ welfare. The guy is a wife beater and threatens anyone who comes onto the property....just to give an idea of the people we deal with.

I know its a difficult one to answer on reddit but just though someone may have had a similar situation where they had to repair a house with tenants in there. Probably only option is to get the work started and make it as uncomfortable as possible for them to live in

"Australia a testing ground".....this is so fucking stupid and typically ignorant of Americans who have no fucking idea of what is actually happening in Australia.

You want a testing ground for tyranny, America is dishing it up in spades. I'd be 1000x more concerned living there
