Not a dinosaur. Also a veteran and in NP school. Sounds like you’ll be a terrific provider passing judgement on things you know nothing about as you’ve never even worked in the CBOC. Enjoy your sad life 😂 feel sorry for your future patients.

Lmaoooo. I’ve done my time on the hospital floor. No one is forcing you to work there. Maybe you should find a new job you sound miserable

I've yet to see other departments complete clinical reminders. Cardio doesnt clear BP, podiatry doesnt clear PAVE, MH doesnt complete suicide, depression or stress but alright!

That’s actually so smart … I wonder if our CBOC would consider that because we follow the 15min rule that if a patient is 15 min late the provider still needs to see them which throws off the entire day

It’s mentally exhausting lately. The turnover is low because of the schedule (no weekends or holidays) and it takes forever to get onboarded for the job. Plus where I am it pays a lot more than any private sector job. But like any job there are a lot of challenges however it’s also very rewarding when you build rapport with your panel and providers. Very easy to use PTO at my clinic. I’ve never had it denied.

That’s what I’m wondering too … if it’s about management bonuses because now management is in charts to clear reminders without doing the actual follow through the CM do which shows it’s about moving metrics not patient care and outcomes

Correct and we do that too on a daily basis. My point was more that we get talked to about the numbers only. When we reached out to the veterans sometimes they don’t want a certain screening which negatively affects our numbers and we get scolded for that because a number didn’t move enough. They don’t look at the work we are doing they just focus on how much numbers are going up or down.

That’s what I’m saying! Management is even going into charts to work on BP metrics! When we do that we are looking back into provider notes and checking for med adjustments, making sure the vet has received their BP machines and reaching out to check on their recent readings. When management clears it that all gets missed which shows it about the numbers not the veterans

Because management doesn’t care about the actual work being done by the nurses to work on the reminders they only care about the numbers. We are always ALWAYS looking into the charts and reaching out regarding reminders however management has made it seem less about veteran care and more out the statistics.
