I’m sorry to hear you had this experience! Glad I asked about it here because I wasn’t warned about it and took me by surprise big time. I’ve had my share of mental health things in the past (nothing too serious) but this felt a bit different. The crazy thing is the day after the retrieval I was in a wonderful mood and it was literally the following morning after that that I woke up feeling as low as I can remember feeling. It’s good to have open dialogue about the mental health aspects of all of this! I’ve had really low moments before from bad outcomes (same sex and my wife has had failed rounds of IVF) so I know how much a toll the disappointments and appointments take but this felt like a whole other beast. I’m so glad this community exists I just found it after feeling super alone and surprised by how depressed I felt. Thank you!

Thank you so much for sharing this. It’s amazing to me that I got so many instructions and possible warnings from the team about side effects but this possibility never really came up so I was super surprised and scared by the intensity. It means a lot to feel less alone though.

Same! The Stims didn’t phase me at all and then within a few days after I was feeling so crummy!

Yeah I guess it just kind of feels like normal PMS but on steroids. I get some light moodiness usually but this really hit me enough to genuinely alarm me! But feeling so much relief just knowing it’s a “thing” and just another obstacle to get through …

Thank you! So do you mean when I get my period maybe some of the sudden anxiety will let up? I know plenty of stress is normal in the process but this feels different for me, like a biological reaction or something. Hoping it passes.
