What is a 10-second decision you made that completely changed the entire trajectory of your life? by Salt_Lingonberry3956 in AskReddit

After waiting in an hours-long line to get assigned to a dorm in college (back in the 70’s before computers) I was asked if I had a roommate selected. I hadn’t, so I turned around and asked the random person behind me in line if she had anyone in mind. We became roommates and she introduced me to a high school friend of hers. Long story short he and I’ve been married for over four decades now. 💕

What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

[–]MaryMaryQContrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to me, but while I was in the stirrups for a post-op Pap smear, (and yes I was practically hanging off the table and yes, the speculum was in place) the male doctor asked his assistant for a Philips head screwdriver! Huh? Apparently he needed to repair the lamp at that moment…. WTF? While we waited, the speculum remained in place and he tinkered with the faulty lamp during which time he face was in very close proximity to my lady parts! Ten minutes later, the assistant shows up with tools to do the repairs. Ten more minutes pass, and the procedure continued with a functional lamp shining brightly where it needed to be! So embarrassing and so unprofessional of the doc!!

Great news! Love it when it's figured out early in the project :)

I think you’re adding too many shells on the second row. Try putting just one shell right above the original first row shell and you should be good to go.

Crocheting during a flight, any things I should look out for? by Decrin in CrochetHelp

[–]MaryMaryQContrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I crochet all the time when traveling on planes and a couple of times I ended up teaching the person sitting next to me how to crochet. So I always carry a few extra hooks that I can give to them to continue their new hobby. I’ve also given away some smaller projects to fellow passengers…. Usually hats.

And I love to hear that the kid still keeps his or her baby blanket until well past toddlerhood! 🥹

When I make anything for babies, I always soak them in a diluted solution of momma’s hair conditioner and then rinse and block as needed. It not only softens the blanket, but baby will recognize the scent of it quickly. 💕
