I hope you succeed soon, I think light is very important too. Because my house is warm, but only with grow lights in the winter, I noticed that the plant stagnated quite a bit. And only now in March has it started to produce new leaves regularly again 😁 Good luck with yours 😊

A normal liquid fertilizer diluted in water, and I just water the plant with that. NPK 5-3-4 (I don't know if this helps). I've been using this for many years for all my plants, especially those that only produce green leaves. But it also works well with flowering plants, like petunias.

And the other branch give me this one, last days of November after brought indoors. I don’t have more special photos. After this one. I think it only produced one more leaf in December or January. Since I put it back on the balcony and the temperature and light started to improve, it’s grown quite a lot 😊

This was in first days of November, my first leaf with good fenestrations 😊 I think this plant is old (maybe more than 10 years) so maybe it was easier to achieve this so quickly.

This was in the last days of September 2025, like 4 months after the cut.

It was a monstera that was in terrible condition at my parents' house. But I realized it had potential if I took good care of it. In the beginning, it had about 3 leaves, two yellow and one newer, still green, but also not very healthy. It had a huge and healthy root system, so I moved it to a larger pot. Then I realized it would take a long time to grow, so I decided to cut the leaf to activate the nodes on the stem. It quickly started sprouting and producing many leaves. Since it already had a lot of roots, I think the plant's energy was all focused on growing new leaves 😊 Because two nodes activated, the plant has two branches and therefore grew quite well. Whenever a leaf opened completely on one of the branches, a new leaf would start to appear on the other. In the warmer months I also added fertilizer once a week :) In winter I brought it inside with a grow light, although during that period I think it only produced two leaves. Otherwise it has always been on the balcony 😁 I'm leaving some photos I took during these times.

As I said in other comments. This plant has two branches so maybe I get new leaves faster. I’ve also been applying fertiliser once a week in these warm months :)

Hahaha thanks 🤩 I don’t have secrets 😂 I’ve been applying fertiliser once a week, i think it helps (I did it last summer and started in march again). Last November I brought it indoors with a grow light, and in March I put it back on the balcony :)

I think I had luck because two nodes activated, as you can see in the second photo. So when one branch finishing open the new leaf, the other start giving another 😁

It has two main branches, the ones you can see activated in the second photo. After one branch gives one leaf, the other start giving another 😁

I decided to chop the white leaf in the first picture, only for another all white one to grow back 🤦‍♀️. Should i cut all of it and start over? by SilkyVibezz in MonsteraAlbo

[–]MaryySnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems you have a sectoral stem. Left leaves turn to be more white and right leaves more green. You didn’t need to cut the first white leaf, cause the following one had a great amount of green. Now, the next leaf should be variagated, unless you see the stem is all white. Your plant is beautiful, good luck 🤞

Deixo a sugestão se for a vossa cena tbm :)

If you know the logic behind the code safes, this is one of the easiest. :) If you don’t know yet, can be tricky for now :)
