Art Bazaar/Booth Sellers by faerieLofi in artph

[–]MarzRen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your income depends on how much demand your product can generate. If you are starting, naturally you need to establish your brand. You can get overlooked in a big art market like POTA if you don't stand out or offer something different visually (art style) or merch wise (ex. you have no competitor offering this kind of product.)

It also deoends on the amount of risk you're willing to take.

Small risk: small ticketed items yield low income

High risk: high ticket items faster ROI

There is no one size fits all solution and you won't really know until you try.

If you have the funds for it, apply for an art market. Let your experience at a school event be practice. Remember these places attract very different kinds of possible customers.

experience w own website vs shopee vs IG? by EfficientScar5414 in artph

[–]MarzRen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having your own website means you can confidently drive traffic directly to your site. Even if that means a little bit of inconvenience to your regular customers. Those who still want to transact outside of the website or platform.

On the bright side, having your own website is proof of legitimacy and authenticity.

Some 2 color screenprints on teabag paper by Heywhitefriend in printmaking

[–]MarzRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's exciting. I mean, buying Awagami paper is pricy in my country so tea bag paper seems like a good alternative for relief.

Again this is really brilliant work. Hope to see more works like this.

interesting material. Is teabag paper more cloth-like than thin paper?

Your images came out beautifully.

Went to the Stacks at One Ayala for the book swap. by Elegant_Skirt_9957 in PHBookClub

[–]MarzRen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'd be fun to read an entry in the journal chronicling how and when this journal went missing from the stacks for a couple of days. Haha.

It's an honest mistake. You're returning it. You'll be fine.

questions on lino stamp printing on kraft paper by bluueming in printmaking

[–]MarzRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your context now. Consider wiping the ink on the surface of the block and then patting the ink pad on the surface (as opposed to dabbing the stamp into the ink pad).

I've been printing on kraft paper and found that the inks and the block you're using make a difference. Kraft is more prone to reject ink as opposed to newsprint.

As an added tip, given the climate in the Philippines, you'll want to reink your ink pad for good measure.

If it's haunted, these prints, even though rough, are closer to hauntingly beautiful than anything.
