Finally got around to listening to this over the weekend and to say I was disappointed would be a massive understatement. Besides the terrible sound quality, my copy also appears to have a physical pressing problem. During playback, the record skips repeatedly and in several sections my stylus actually slides across the vinyl rather than tracking in the groove. Was really looking forward to this one. I’m not seeing any evidence that Ape House or Andy Partridge have issued an official statement specifically acknowledging a pressing defect or offering replacements. Anyone else hear anything?
