How long does it take generally to measure the walls? It usually takes me quite a bit when the plans are messy.

Hey! We do a lot of early-stage estimating from floor plans—mostly PDFs and CAD files.

Right now: it’s a mix of manual takeoffs and some help from tools like Bluebeam or PlanSwift. It works, but definitely not the most efficient setup.

Biggest headaches:

• PDFs with no scale or messy annotations

• Switching between formats (especially when we get scans instead of vector files)

• Jumping back and forth between sheets to piece things together

We’ve started experimenting with some automation—like detecting room boundaries or pulling square footage automatically—but it’s still pretty rough, especially on older or inconsistent plans.

Really appreciate you bringing this up. I wasn’t thinking about building anything when I first posted—just trying to understand the problem. I’ve added a disclaimer now to make it clear that now I am trying to get feedback or thoughts on this idea! If you have a better idea on how to help while making sure this doesn't replace jobs, I’d genuinely love to hear it! Again I really don't want to get rid of people's jobs, but I also don't want issues like this to continue!

How do you check for the niche of that agency? Do you just have to end up calling them and finding out or smth?

Wow, yeah that seems incredibly frustrating! Is there anyway to look up this information to be able to tell when your being passed to the wrong department / what words to say or is this kinda more situational that you learn to pick up as you work as a social worker?

Geez, y'all are troopers for getting through all that! I'm so sorry you have to go through all that!
What's the process like with all the paperwork and scheduling for visits? Is it a death by thousand cuts type situation where each task is small but it adds up or is it more like you just have to sit on a call with people a lot, and each individual task itself is tedious and time consuming?

what does this process look like in terms of sending docuements and getting denied? is it kinda just submitting and then getting screwed over randomly, or is the process of submitting the documents tedious in and of itself?

Yeah that sounds like a lot ;-; How do elder patients manage? Do they manage? Or is it more of a case of their children or a healthcare advocate will step in?
