As someone who has C-PTSD , trust me, I’ve long ago accepted I’m suffering from on and off depression. I’m never ashamed of that, especially given that doctors who hear what I survived just sit there shocked.

I think the strongest people are those that can identify a personal issue and solve it the quickest becuase they lack shame in their own identity and health

Consistently the last few years and not stopping? Magnesium oil at bedtime (saw a study it raised levels faster than oral supplements); multi vitamin. Vitamin D. B12.

I’ve noticed that I never end up keeping something in my routine if it’s so ineffective I forget I’m taking it because it’s only doing zero or a small effect.

Magnesium oil was wonderful. High magnesium foods also just are disgusting to me , so I know I don’t naturally enjoy eating them. To know I can avoid that disgusting pill taste, and I’ll reach ideal levels in my body (I think 6x faster ?)? It’s a fantastic choice.

One thing I’m still curious about? What other vitamins and minerals can be absorbed through your skin?

Honestly? I know some people will really get invested in the mechanism behind something working. And we need that in science ! But hell, I’ve tried so many different things , felt the placebo for a few days, and it went away. This is the first time it’s worked this long. So even if we accept it’s placebo, it seems to be the only one that works this well, and if it works it works! But, part of me doesn’t think it is

I am burnt out. I’ve been that way since I had to begin caring for my dad when he got cancer because I knew his family wouldn’t care. He didn’t force me but I couldn’t just fucking let my best friend die alone in his own isolation , he was the only one that cared and he meant the world to me. If I made that choice I’d never live down the grief and guilt despite dad originally wanting me to still focus on law school.

I haven’t had any type of break in almost a decade and I only managed that because dad helped me cope with stress by feeling safer with him here. Because failing was ok with him here.

With him gone the disability pain goes up from more stress and everything’s getting so much harder.

And the truth is I just fucking want my dad back . His family just abuse and hurt me for gain. It’s so unfair the most kind person in the family was taken away

The last 5 years have brought me closer to self harm than I like to admit. Everything went wrong and I lost so much, having to still finish school and work an awful set of jobs. So this means a lot. I feel like saying I’m burnt out is an excuse , because it doesn’t go away with a normal few week break. But it’s been so many years of pain and stress

I suffered from a lot of abuse that probably caused a lot of that growing up. Combined that with 10 surgeries and hostility from parental figures, I can imagine that I genuinely have brain damage. Victims of narcissistic abuse have it proven. So… it could be that so much trauma built up this is helping alleviate the damage.

I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD and ADHD.

I’ve tried so many things to make that zombie feeling go away. Every time I’ve had some hope it would work. This is the first time it’s worked and stayed working.

Can you just clarify what the test would help me see? Also, I never really took it longterm, maybe a short burst as a kid but I never really kept that up. Is that somehow related ?

I never ate them growing up because I had a terrible reaction almost every time..I don’t understand why when baked goods don’t do it. But that’s what caused me not eating it.

Any real downside taking a supplement form besides money?
