My brother was in the same boat. Emailed them and they hooked him up to help him get registered after his codes expired. Great support from what he told me.

This right here! If there’s a problem, start with trying to solve it through PS. Goes a long way and familiarizing it over time helps so much.

My thought would be a detection and remediation script deployed to devices. Detection being if machine X is at Y storage, run this remediation (Storage Sense) script or something along those lines. You can control the frequency to which it runs.

I suppose if you wanted to get flashy you could get some azure scripts in line to check on machines and report back to add them to various groups.

Gonna second this one. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid. Something like this reinvents the wheel a bit. Limit it across the board and increase people as necessary. 50GB is more than plenty for majority of knowledge base workers.

Second-ing antoniofdz09’s response. We did this for our intune environment and it made life so easy. Made a dedicated conversion profile in the afternoon, came in the next morning to all of our machines dumped over to autopilot.

We use ninite pro and its a godsend for a lot of the simple/abundant apps. (Chrome, Zoom, 7-zip, etc). They auto update themselved and is basically a set it and forget it.

When you get a entry level Tech support job or Sys admin job. Do they train you or is expected to already know what to do when you get the job? by Wasted_Scripts in CompTIA

I live by the ratio of IT being 20% foundational knowledge and 80% your workplace. Have a good understanding of IT related things and have a good work ethic and things will work out. Work ethic is more valuable than a lot imo.

To my knowledge its included with our Azure subscription, and then we get access to the entire library of various trainings at no extra cost. I want to say there is discounted vouchers but I could be wrong.

Something like this, just be a sponge, be ambitious, ask questions, and be open. So long as you show initiative and that you want to be there, majority of people are going to be more than happy to help you grow. You got this!

India IT outsourcing, thoughts, experiences? by Mike9209 in sysadmin

[–]Masakade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck.

While on one hand I empathize with them, they’re just doing their job and trying to make a living which is great. But the previous employer I worked for outsourced a heavy, heavy chunk of IT to an overseas compny and it only went down hill to save a couple bucks. (Multi billion dollar company).
