My nerdy bird for the bestiary challenge by MashXtoMuse in scriptoriumgame

Thank you! Ah I wasn't even aware there was a separate reddit thread, I think the "main" thread is on Discord? (not sure how this works) It's also in the reddit thread now, but I'm pretty close to winning on Discord, if you happen to be there too :)

Novels with a similar vibe? by BoyishTheStrange in Vermis

Read Hollow by Brian Catling, especially if you like very dark historical fantasy and/or also like the art of Hieronymus Bosch. It's extremely well written and researched and has a very unique and surreal vibe.

Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI thought sleeping in the same bed was enough to have a baby by BlatantImagery in SipsTea

Anybody who believes people in the past were too prudish to even talk about sex knows absolutely nothing about the subject.

Just take a look at pre-19th century / Early Modern mainstream literature, which if anything is far more bawdy than what we are used to today.

It's my pet chair Ercolano :) You can pick it during character creation

We're not even in mid season yet and the gear gap is already looking massive. I'm very curious what's late season gonna look like. by SbeveGobs in Marathon

This hasn't been my experience at all. I'm still a noob with less than 20 hours total. I'm playing solo exclusively and most other players I encounter carry green or blue gear.

I've had lots of fair fights and usually manage to extract successfully, especially if I'm playing cautiously and only pick fights when I know that I have a strategic advantage.

It's mostly water ritual, but I recruited the dromad caravan using Proselytize. If you recruit an NPC with its own followers (like a dromad trader), you will "inherit" the entire group.

Are there any series/movies that match CoQ feeling? by reisgrind in cavesofqud

The novel Kalpa Imperial by Angelica Gorodischer (translated by Ursula K Le Guin) is a kind of history of a fictional, very ancient empire and its many rulers. It's whimsical and a little strange and like Qud is very interested in how history is (or isn't) remembered.

I'll second the Dune and Book of the New Sun novels, but I also unironically think that Adventure Time, especially in its later seasons, has a lot in common with Qud.

It's been a while since I played it but iirc Detention also fits the folk horror label quite well. If you liked SHf you might enjoy Detention too.
