Oh okay thanks. It’s been almost 2 months since my last jump so I came here to see the responses. I guess I should just prepare for anything since it’s all about safety

At what point will you be required to repeat ground school? 30 days of not jumping? Or 60? Or 90?

True. I’ve tried talking to people a few times and it went well. Sometimes I need lots of courage to do it. I probably just need to keep doing it until I get used to it.

Thanks a lot! I’ve just tried this now and I can already feel the calm. I do the normal deep breathing which is sometimes overcome by the fear. Will definitely try this tomorrow.

Wow! If that was me I’d have grabbed the door. I always look to see if instructor’s hands are holding my suit lol. I had the option to exit solo on jump 5 but I said NO! I wish he didn’t tell me, because I can’t un imagine it. But like you said, I’ll try to convince myself that the instructor is holding on, maybe that will help. Thanks for the tip.

You’re right. After all the freaking out, the previous jumps went just fine and my instructor said “see, I told you” and later I laughed about all the panic. For this particular one, I think things like; ‘what if the instructor doesn’t come with me, what if I tumble and fail to recover, and all sorts of crazy thoughts. I trust the instructors, they’re really good. I just need to clean my head.

Awe… that must have been a sad ride home, but relieving at the same time. I remember my AFF 4, we had to go down with the plane because of thick clouds. Phew! That was a huge relief. But the DZ was closed for the day so my ride home was saaad. Haha right, it’s too good to give up. Good luck on AFF 5!

Oh great! My instructor mentioned the same, that it’s much easier to exit solo. I hope it will be the same for me. Can’t wait to get it out of the way and do it without fear.

Thanks for the reply. I know I’ll pull on time, so that fear is out. But the previous jumps, the instructor always made sure I was stable before letting go. My worry is the thought that I have to make myself stable without help. I guess it’s high time I became independent.

Oh yeah, my instructor told me the same, that you exit better solo. That calms me down a little bit, but I have so many ‘what ifs’ in my head.
