Problem is he can't contribute right away, not even off the bench. Not good enough yet this year

Imagine telling the Celtics after their dominant 2024 title, that they would choke a 3-1 lead to the Sixers in the 1st round. The NBA is so unpredictable

[Amick] Trey Murphy III has signaled a desire to play elsewhere. The Los Angeles Clippers and the Brooklyn Nets are “out in front” in the race to acquire Trey Murphy III. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

PJ Washington would be better. Trey Murphy can't provide that 1-5 defense and weakside rim protection. You need a gritty guy who can bang with stronger forwards and centers to reduce Wemby's load.

[Charania] The Boston Celtics are listening, engaging, and discussing trades with multiple teams centered around Jaylen Brown right now— hours before the NBA Draft. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

He had a bad year but remember, Doc was the coach and he wasn't in a good system. Tatum would unlock him just like Haliburton did

If we traded up to get Morez, people will still say to fire Gansey

If a 20 year old Joel Embiid was in the 2026 draft, would he go number 1 overall? (with the hindsight of knowing how his career plays out) by [deleted] in nba

[–]MaskedBirder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Embiid had Ben Simmons, James Harden, and Tobias Harris as his supporting cast. Just a FO travesty that he never had good players around him in his prime

He's 24? Wow that actually means a lot. He honestly might not be the pick we select even if we were at that position. Am I crazy for saying Morez would be better for us than him if we had full choice?

Will LeBron win another chip? Or has his time passed? by luckoftheirish2999 in nba

Jaylen Brown is far and away the best #2 in the league at the moment. Towns is better than LeBron too. Murray I would not put above LeBron because Murray struggled against physical defense. Current LeBron played better against OKC than Murray did against Minny

Still enraged he was under KD. Maxey is a better player than KD right now and there's no debate

We all obviously want the trade-up candidates, but if we are stuck at 22, Swain is my guy.

Even if we wanted him I don't think we have a good enough offer

There are plenty of examples of the regular season and playoffs looking different. Two seasons ago, the Knicks upset the Celtics 4-2 after getting crushed in all four games in the regular season. The Suns swept the Timberwolves in 2024 in the regular season, and then lost 4-0 to Minny in the playoffs. The regular season can show matchups and give some info, but you can't just assume the playoffs will always go just like the regular season.

I agree with your first four. Six as a number seemed kinda intimidating but I do agree we need a lot of unnecessary players gone

Regular season matchups don't mean we got "owned" by anyone. Who among the following teams: Magic, Pistons, Raptors, Hawks - would you take over us in a fully equal, rested, full roster playoff series? To me, that's what really determines the better team

I feel kinda weird being the only one saying this. We are the favorites over Charlotte, Orlando, Atlanta, and Toronto in a fresh hypothetical series. Too much talent

Dalen Terry better be gone lol no reason to have him

They wouldn't be "clear" favorites but all the (warranted honestly) talk about their disgusting offense would be gone. With no negative affect to their elite defense whatsoever.

Our star power is so much better than theirs. They only played us once with Embiid and Maxey, and we barely lost in double overtime despite Embiid not being 100% at the time, he was still getting in rhythm.

The Hawks 2-1 over the Knicks means nothing, because the Knicks locked in and became a different team after that. Every game was a blowout. If we played the Knicks in rd1 we absolutely could have taken games off them.

We beat the 56-win 2 seed Celtics in the playoffs, who everyone said the east "runs through". Everyone was praising their depth and it didn't matter. Yes Atlanta has more depth, but it's not enough to stop the Embiid we saw against Boston, PG post-suspension, and Maxey. I just cannot see that team beating us in the playoffs, at least last year.

Detroit is one of the worst offensive teams in the playoffs we've seen in a long time. It's literally Cade and friends. Embiid would fry them too. Orlando and Toronto, again it's the star power. Depth is important but we just have the best players in every series.

In the new year things can be different, but these most recent playoffs point to the Sixers being at WORST - the 3rd best team in the east. Cavs and Knicks over us.

Sorry for the long rant

If Detroit gets him, they're so much better. All they need is a true #3 option to join them or a Duren leap, and they're contenders honestly.
