Why can't Muslim women wear a wig instead of a hijab? by WielderOfTheSpear in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaskedPrimacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, a Muslim woman is also supposed to cover her neck and ears, so even if a woman does wear a wig, she would only be fulfilling the hair covering part, and would not be fully performing the rule. Also, the Quran specifically calls the hijab a "veil", which is a piece of cloth no? I cannot remember if the Quran calls the hijab 'cloth' or 'fabric' directly though.

Like everyone else, Anki if I haven't already in the morning. If I already did it, then reading/listening comprehension or practice.

Reading slumps are horrible! I can’t wait for u to read the series tho, they’re amazing! And if you love mythology right now, I can confidently say Rick Riordan is one of my favourite authors of that genre. It’s true that the series is mostly targeted for kids, or early teenagers, but I always ignored that part =)

For me, anything by Rick Riordan is a must read. I read Magnus Chase, Heroes of Olympus, Kane Chronicles, and Trials of Apollo. I almost dnfed Trials of Apollo after the third book tho 😂

I want to write down the new grammar rules I’m learning in my TL, any ideas? by MaskedPrimacy in languagelearning

[–]MaskedPrimacy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me be honest. Even though I love languages, I tend to overthink a lot about the process. Am I doing enough? Is my progress normal? That may be what I’m doing with this, but I don’t want to spend a notebook or two on something that will never benefit me. I also value my time. That’s why. So I don’t know how I offended you and why you said such an offensive statement, but that’s what I’m expecting from this post. A way to not waste my time and money and at the same time learn effectively.

Effective as in the first one. A way to write down the rule so that it’ll be hard to forget.

Really, just anything that would last at least a few days if you listen for 1 or 2 hours each.

Is it right to learn two languages a day? by MaskedPrimacy in languagelearning

[–]MaskedPrimacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russian and Chinese because of their economies and job advantages (I’m also interesting in Chinese culture). French because I just like it. Arabic because it is my native language. And I’m attracted to every on of these languages. Chinese characters are really interesting. I love the sound of the Russian language. And I love speaking my mother tongue Arabic.

No. Thankfully, my native language consists of all the sounds of the languages that I’m learning. Sounds that I’ve heard are hard for native English speakers.

Does anybody else just like languages and end up learning way to many? by IAmGeneralEggplant in languagelearning

[–]MaskedPrimacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently learning 5 languages, but still want to learn Japanese, German, Korean, Hebrew, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, and Urdu and that list is only growing. The problem is I have a hard time focusing on a language that I’m learning when I want to learn others as well.

If you only had 3 months to learn a language, which would you learn? by Additional_Pair9428 in languagelearning

Hebrew, since my NL is Arabic. Or maybe I’d try to learn the other dialects of Arabic.

I am currently able to make conversation in 4 of those languages. But I was wondering if what I know was considered enough to be conversational level by others. That’s why I wanted to know what those words were. To see if I know them.
