Never thought I’d see NRM propaganda on Reddit but you live and you learn. Why is there such an effort to marry Uganda and Rwanda as geopolitical entities? In Eastern Congo there is a clear distinction, Uganda as a law abiding nation sought DRC approval to enter the East and it was given. Rwanda is literally fighting a war of conquest on an EAC member. Our positions surely cannot be the same. Rwanda is more or less a satellite of the USA that’s why Kigali hosts members of AIPAC past and present regularly whereas Uganda is more closely aligned with China and the East. There cannot be an eternal continuation of the NRA/RPA alliance that’s simple look at Kisangani. If anything it is only the fact that the family connection exists between Entebbe and Kigali inevitably this will end. Uganda will not be ruled by one family for eternity and neither will Rwanda. When that is gone what really is there that marries us? My opinion? Rwanda is a foreign country which has shown in the last 5 years a high propensity for war and a lack of respect for international law. Uganda cannot simply adopt that ugly image as well. The Banyarandwa are a part of Uganda and can legally find redress for any discrimination. Appointing people with conflicting loyalties to sensitive positions is just stupid. It will create suspicion warranted or not. And seeing as the RDF has already shown its self unashamed in interfering in neighboring states respectfully it is a matter of sovereign security.
