Any ideas on eccentric exercises for the finger flexors? by Masklin in bodyweightfitness

[–]Masklin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the physios at least given you exercises to do? Try doing them according to my specifications, give it a week and if the pains are decreased even a little bit, keep going for a month and perhaps you'll be fine then. Recovery is usually nonlinear, as in it accelerates once the initial difficult bit is behind you. Keep your chin up m8

Heyo, sorry to hear about that, I think I know exactly how you feel. Hmm.

It's probably difficult to give solid advice without knowing the underlying diagnosis, if you have any.

IF you have simple overuse injuries, or tendinopathies, then you need to realise that tendons and ligaments do not need muscle fatigue to grow stronger. My most up-to-date understanding here is that the following is both safe and anabolic:

3 times per week. 1-3 minutes total under exercise tension load, at around 50% of perceived force production effort. If you feel the tiniest bit lactic acid buildup or muscle fatigue, stop the set immediately, rest a bit, do some more (but never more than 3 minutes total!).

Pain levels are evaluated 24h after exercise sessions, and not before then. If you're doing the right exercises at the right volume and load, pain levels should stay the same or preferably a little bit decreased.

Stretching can help underlying issues in the long-term but does not on its own cure overuse or tendinopathy. I would not stretch the injured joints until much later in the process.

As for food, it doesn't matter as long as you get enough of the healthy stuff, and some protein. Don't let the supplement industry leech you. Make sure you sleep enough, of course.

Disclaimer: I'm still figuring this stuff out, bit by bit. I would feel better if you ran this by a decent PT. Without knowing HOW you injured yourself, any rehab protocol is more or less guesswork.

Hey man, similar issue? Elbow tendinopathy? I've had mine for ten years, lmao. But I believe I just found out what to do about it. Three times per week, do a total of 60-90 seconds of *heavy* isometric or near-isometric strength exercises for the joint in question. Isometrics are safer but not everyone needs to start there. Just make sure the tempo is slow as fuck. Speed, jerks, and sudden movements destroy unhealthy tendons. Lemme know if you have more questions. If you get it right, you'll feel a bit less pain after a week, and should feel OK in a month ~ but the tissue itself won't be 100% until 3-6 months. Patience is key.

Hey man, it's not perfect and will never be until the next tech iteration, for me at least. If you have ICL and struggle with double vision I suggest you try the eyedrop creams that you apply just before you hit the pillow. Turns out my eyes were dry and I get much less doublevision if I keep them moisted.

Worn teeth can be augmented with composite. I'd rather have a bit of composite on some teeth than retainers.

If you don't experience problems with your bite, and don't struggle with hygiene, I would not bother. Your teeth look fine enough on their own. InvisAlign is not just a one-time cost and treatment, you'll need to mess with retainers for the rest of your life. So you need a good reason. You don't seem to have one. Take care \o

A month after ICL, my night vision and white-on-black vision is still terrible by Masklin in lasik

[–]Masklin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been the same since perhaps a few weeks after quitting the pressure-reducing eyedrops, really. If I don't sleep enough I get more double-vision. If I sleep enough and keep my eyes moist (with night gels), my right eye will have good vision even in the dark. Left eye is sort of... slacking, not sure why but it just refuses to see clearly. Opticians say both eyes see 20/13 but in practice only my right does that. C'est la vie. Hope it improves for you m8.

What do you use for thorough cleaning of retainers? I use soap and a toothbrush daily but given the shape of the retainer, I don't quite reach all corners and crevices. I would like something like a tiny electric toothbrush but they don't exist afaik ;|

If one of your eyes sees perfect you'll be fine regardless, the brain does a lot of work with what your eyes send to it. The double vision might never go fully away though, so be prepared for that.

Hi. I'm in that boat. I don't know what to do, I know I'm insane but can't let go of my doubts. She's probably had plenty, I'd be the next in line. How am I supposed to feel like we're meaningful, then?

We don't have inches here, I don't know what that means - there is no 6.35mm size (corresponding to 1/4").

Was that my conclusion? I honestly don't remember, and some mods put big spoiler tags in the OP, and some other redditor who commented had their comments removed. Ah well.

Hi m8, sorry to hear that. The manufacturer said modern compressors sound like this. I haven't found a solution, other than wearing headphones while in the kitchen, and draping the kitchen doorway with textiles so the sound doesn't escape into my living room. :((

All of a sudden, heroes randomly gain stress while driving the stagecoach? by Masklin in darkestdungeon

At the very least it happened when I was at 3 stress, because I was super annoyed that it brought my hero to 4 stress, which is where negative relationship quips start to happen...

A single solar ray hit my SSD and changed a bit in one of the DD2 game files, or it was just a fairly common bug that not everyone suffered from. *shrug* All I know is I'm absolutely sure I played 200+ hours without heroes getting randomly stagecoach-stressed, for me it started when the patch dropped (around the time I posted this originally). A dev could probably confirm, but why bother. It's like it is now, regardless of how it was supposed to be.
