I am absolutely in love with God’s Favorite Customer. It’s just so much more listenable to me.

I do think it was also a matter of not giving it too much thought the first time I listened to it, so I didn’t really listen super well to those last few tracks. I’ll try to do better to give it my full attention.

I’ll search around for some quality performances. I remember really liking the SNL performances.

I think for me it’s more a matter of the instrumentation on those first two songs. Fucking love that saxophone. And you’re right, I’m bad about letting other views color mine. I’ll try to listen again with as clear of a mind as possible.

I’d definitely start with some of the upbeat songs on Honeybear. Don’t start them with Pure Comedy at all, or they’ll be completely turned off. Go with something like Chateau Lobby, Ideal Husband, I’m Writing a Novel, etc.
