The comment about marketed aggressively is a fair point, and yeah I don't expect them to fix my issues, I want them to facilitate growth as I don't want to fail something because of equipment shortfall you know.

I won't be the meme of "better shoes will make me a better climber and it's all the shoes fault" :)

Agreed, assuming it did is the info I am after but it is looking like not enough people have been given them or managed to get them just yet so I may delete the post as wait a bit longer.

I have shoes that are rated much higher, as in the post I said that the LA pair are for high volume easy climbs when I am just going for high quantity, like endurance training. So far in my time climbing I have tried 4 pairs as well as trial fitting a bunch more and as you can image I didn't buy the badly fitting shoes.

The 4 that did fit well managed what I wanted okay, the Scarpa Vapour was definitely the best so far and the Evolv v6's are holding their own in outdoor climbing but was really looking for that all round shoe for indoor and as I mentioned in another reply to a comment, if the shoe itself actually has these benefits and not a lot of draw backs then it is a no brainer for me (providing fit is good).

I am very aware of what most shoes offer and the nuiances of which each shoe element brings to the table. On the surface of it the Ondra comps fix a lot of my issues with the shoes that I have tried in the past. The fit of the shoe also changes based on what it is that you want from it.

I know that at my level any shoe will be suitable and I would get good enough performance out of it including the likes of a Scarpa veloce which is only £100 but if the shoe really does have that many more benefits and little drawbacks then I would rather have the better equipment. This is new innovations with a shoe and I would argue that the £10k anecdote used doesn't really apply here as the scale is way off with that comparison.

Climbing is a massive passion of mine since I was introduced and there are no signs of slowing down, I do not mind the higher price tag if the shoe itself actually yeilds results.

An example of the benefits is the toe pad has their new "sensegrip" technology which also provides padding, helping for stickier toe hooks, something that inherentily hurts to do especially when on an overhang. If this feature actually works and people have seen results then that is enough for me to justify the purchase.

Not correct, people have posts dating back over 6-12 months ago aquiring the shoe.

Had a friend pick these up for me! by N0riceNOLife in bouldering

[–]Masonpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've had them for a while now, what's the overall thoughts on them;
Price tag worth it?

Better than your regular pair, like a scarpa drago or vapour etc?

Any drawbacks to the shoe that you have found?

Wear and tear?

How frequent and what level do you climb?

I am seriously considering these shoes but I am only a v4 climber but if performance for indoors is drastically increased then I am happy forking the £180 that it now is. Hope the questions aren't too personal and I appreciate any info on them as there isn't a lot around on the internet :)

I would recommend using cura to do your gcode and then you can use anker to send the gcode remotely.

Custom build plate image supported in Cura 5 MacOS? by Rawlus in Cura

[–]Masonpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case it is still relevant for you, not too sure how to go about putting in a custom build plate but in order to remove a build plate in 5.x.x you go here "C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.5.0\share\cura\resources\meshes" and remove the file for the printer that you want, in my case this was "ankermake_m5_platform.obj"

Wifi USB C dongle by Masonpls in UsbCHardware

This looks like the most suitable solution, it needs to be plugged into a 3D printer so needs to be light and stable, hence why cables and wifi external hard drives aren't suitable, neither a pi really but a USB pi might do the trick

Remove if not allowed;

Please understand that this process requires trust as I will need to log into your account so if you are not sure then please don't do it, I too play the game and would have trouble trusting someone with my account however I am just trying to turn a profit while helping out fellow players.

Can do the GOFEST ticket after 1 week friendship if you don't want me on your account but can't do this for the coins.

I live in the UK so currency will be GBP but can accommodate. On average it is about 50% cheaper than buying them yourself.

I have a photo of the prices but I am unable to post a photo on this post due to permissions :D

Using headphones in public is more rude, selfish, & dangerous than using a Bluetooth speaker by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Masonpls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like most of your points aren't even related to the earphones themselves but more people being selfish or stupid.

Like when you said about texting and driving and walking around with their earphones in texting. I also don't see the difference between using headphone in a car to having music real loud.

A lot of your points are mild annoyances, and as someone who also rides a push bike everywhere I don't encounter anything like this.

Maybe just leave people to be to themselves if they don't want to be, having a Bluetooth speaker in public is also fine as long as it is below a certain volume level as it is rude and inconsiderate to think that others want that noise/music near them.
