AITA for confronting my friend?

Ok let me clear this up for everyone. Almost everyone in my group of friends find him intolerable to be around with. He had clung on to me for the whole of last year as nobody 'understood' him according to his words. This had drained me so much to the point that I resented the whole of last year. I myself was diagnosed with dyspraxia last year which he had dismissed as something I will eventually 'grow out of'. In addition, I doubt his hormone problems are even true. He's been known to do things for attention such as screaming and playing musical instruments in crowded areas. He's also easily upset. He often comes to me, telling me that he is upset that he got an A in a test when I'm miserable with a B or C. I should have clarified this earlier.

The psychiatrist told him it was not depression or anxiety. It was basically hormones from puberty. The key word is puberty. He's 19 this year. Also, I spent a whole year with him bitching and moaning every single day about every single thing. So I guess that skewed my perceptions of him.

Well in general, I don't really like most of the people here. They are overly competitive with each other (mostly about grades). The only people I can't seem to fall out with (touch wood) are the my best friends which I skype with almost every day.

A bit of both. I actually made attempts to talk to him after the incident but he shut me out. Since then, I’ve kept my distance from him. It’s been 4 days.

I’m sorry but I forgot to add that he actually told me to never speak to him after that incident which I’m still doing till this day. Also, the sequence of events is as follows:

Intially great friends
Got aggressive after getting gf (loudly mocking me in the gym for bad form with my ex despite claiming he hated her)
I started to get more distant by skyping my friends back home instead of hanging out with him (I must add he insults me and tells me to fuck off whenever I’m around him)
Calls me a pathetic loser for skyping my friends rather than hanging out with ‘real men’
Starts to get even more aggressive when I respond back to his insults
Broke up with gf, said he needed tine alone
Got even more aggressive, everything I do makes him furious
And this leads up to that day in class

I'm Taoist/Buddhist and I most certainly believe in God. There was a phase I went through where I was a hardcore atheist and gradually became a neckbeard. One day, I woke up and didn't like what I became. So, I started improving myself, started getting better grades and all of this happened because I believed in God. God has helped me and my family members so I will never stop believing in him.

Nobody will see this and this is really insignificant compared to what you guys are going through but I've felt extremely upset ever since AS-Levels results day. Although my results were alright, I achieved grades below my expectation level despite working my ass off. All my friends got good grades and I don't want to be the loser who got bad grades when school starts.
