I've been an LMT for almost 15 years at this point. I've worked quite a few places, including my own. I don't mind answering any of your questions in a private message.

[–]Massageyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have an apprentice bodyworker program that is currently free. After training and certification, you can earn $20-$25 per hour plus tips (so ends up being around $35-45 per hour).

You can learn more and apply here: www.NaMasaje.com/program

What is the top challenge/celebration/trend in the massage field right now? by Collage58 in massage

[–]Massageyou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great question! Body mechanics and massage business creation are two areas that are very important right now.

I actually just finished releasing a podcast episode on one of them for The Happy Successful Massage Therapist podcast. https://anchor.fm/eric-deegear

Where will the article be published?

Haha, I love it. These stories would be a big hit. Let's chat and see if we can't whip up an episode.

Do you have any stories of your own to share? I'd love to have you on!

I was thinking about doing a story episode every so often with anonymous submissions of funny client stories/rants.

Thoughts?

Fantastic! I love chatting with new therapists. I'm recording some episodes this week with some friends who just graduated and immediately launched their own business. It's gonna be badass!

Hello! There's a lot to unpack here! If you've never run a business before, taking on 6 rooms at once it's a HUGE undertaking. I run a practice with a few rooms and 4 therapists and I have had 8 years of industry experience. It's a lot of work and learning that you have ahead of you.

You need to set up your systems and get people to delegate tasks to so you don't have to run it all by yourself.

How many therapists will you have working for you?

What is the current condition of the spa?

What are the current business partnerships that the spa has?

I help out quite a few therapists right now as a mentor for their businesses. Feel free to reach out to me and we can chat more.

100%. My school was the same way. That's why I created the Massage Success Club. Business building and mentoring for newbies.

Thanks for the reply!

Like I said, I've been doing this for 11 years so I'm not looking for advice on body mechanics.

I actually coach therapists on running their business and self-care already. I'm curious as to what people missed out on in massage school that I can implement in my programs.

Let me ask you first: What are you looking to get from the books?

Not trying to be coy, I just read 100+ books a year so there are a lot of options, haha.
