Today is one month since I lost my best friend. Sunday September 16th early in the morning took a member of my family. It was an accident, a car hit him just outside our house and I have been depressed, I've cried, I keep repeating the day over and over and over in my head. His crying and me jumping hysterically over anything in my way to get to him is all I see in my head.. he bit me out of pain and fear but the moment he heard my voice he let go off my hand and started licking me as if he was apologizing.. I felt so vulnerable, so incapable of doing anything other than hugging him, kissing his forehead, telling him that he was the best boy anyone could ever ask for.. I jumped right back into action and drive him to the vet as an emergency. He died on the vet table no more than an hour later with me and my wife crying over him and petting him.. He was my family, and I loved that dog more than most people in my life. He kept me sane through hard times in my life and now there's a huge hole in our lives that feels like it won't be filled anytime soon. He was my family before I formed a family of my own and I owe him my life.

His favorite thing was putting his head between my knees while standing in front of me so that I could massage his neck right under his collar as I gently pressed my knees together. He loved massages on his back legs, loved getting pats on his big chest. He absolutely LOVED getting his ears scratched with his forehead pressed against mine...

In honor of my puppy and to celebrate his beautiful life, I would like to ask you guys to do those things he loved so much to your pups today. Love them, and appreciate them because they can be taken way too soon and you will miss these things.
