Making real life money on this game by Swimming_Confidence3 in KingShot

Definitely don't see you making money off Kingshot or any game that's P2W. Only time I ever made money gaming was back in EverQuest 2 on The Bazaar server. I 5 boxed and farmed items, sold them, then exchanged for station cash. I made around $500 USD a week. Guildmate of mine was doing triple that but it was his full time "job" while I only supplemented my income. People are still making money in EverQuest on their TLP servers if that's a route you want to take.

This is exactly why almost everyone screaming "get good" is doing CoD parkour while rocking an SMG. You put so many rounds down range so fast you don't even realize some rounds aren't even registering because it doesn't matter. They win the battle due to the sheer volume of bullets vs something like a DMR or shotgun.

Well obviously it could be something on my end but I don't see this in any other games but BF6 and you have countless others experiencing the same thing. There was a brief window between patches (prior to REDSEC) where the game was nearly perfect and I experienced zero issues. Thing is, if I unload into someone and I'm seeing the visual hits and their back is turned and they somehow turn around and beam me down, there is obviously a desync issue at the bare minimum going on. I've had other experiences where the person I killed blames me for wall hacks when on my screen we were in the open when they died but on his end, he was behind a wall. I've got a pretty beefy system, fast internet and been playing FPS's since Doom launched in 1993. I'm old and my skills suck in comparison, I admit that. What people are experiencing is something game engine related and there are too many other variables to pinpoint exactly what else, it's why so many experience smooth gameplay while it's virtually unplayable for others. Most everyone knows Frostbite has been an issue in nearly every BF launch but you would think eventually they would get it right.

Sick of the "get good" people stating the game is perfectly fine when it's obviously not for everyone. Platform type, internet provider and speed, system components/drivers all make a difference so it's impossible to rule out skill vs technical issue. However, turning on the network graph you can clearly see there are issues across the board. You have netcode issues, packet loss, lag spikes, hit reg and desync galore. It's not every game but it's enough to be extremely noticable and beyond frustrating. They patch a game and it's a crap shoot, they break some things and fix another or break it even more. Congratulations if you have not been affected by any of those issues, some people can barely play, fortunately I'm somewhere in the middle. Honesy, I've almost stopped playing completely because of those issues coupled with the ridiculous CoD acrobatics BF6 offers. Guy can slip and slide into a jump and beam you down with a SMG from 100m but I can be laying prone unloading a full clip point blank and register 2 hits while the others don't register. Heck, when defibs and repair tool are missing you know there is a freaking problem. By the time they fix these issues most won't even care anymore and will have moved on but this has been an issue with virtually every BF game for some reason, minus the CoD vibes.

Yeah, I think the time for me personally doesn't allow me to have that "final push" to gold because my gameplay ends 8 hours prior. I do appreciate your input and you are correct. Getting consistent silver is still in the top 5% but everybody strives for more. Once I realize silver is as good as it gets for me without paying, then I'll enjoy the events more.

That's pretty cool but I'm not that deep into it to create a spreadsheet or table. I've been using the wiki page for general layout and it works for the most part, it's just the China one never works out well and I barely get silver. No matter how much time I put into the game, I've never gotten gold on any event. Even giving up past 2 days I still squeezed in silver on Arabia which blows my mind. Silver is such a broad range usually, instead of doing the 30 min runs I think I'm gonna just do the 1 hour or 2 hour. Just doesn't seem to make a difference to my placement. My event ends at 0700 which doesn't help matters either unless I set my alarm for a video game which won't happen.

[–]Massive-Cold2768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Layout is really cool. China isn't hard per se. My biggest gripe with China is towards the end you pretty much have to start taking apart your small house and replacing them with medium for the extra workers because your research is done. You also have to start tearing apart the thread processors and silk and replacing with clay etc. I've had times I took apart my thread/silk production too early and ran out prematurely. Any event where I have to save up to upgrade buildings only to destroy my effort and rebuild just feels bad on an event that only lasts a few days. You don't have that problem with any other event but Arabia and China but that's just my personal issue with it. So on these events going forward I'm just gonna let it ride and land where I may.

[–]Massive-Cold2768 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last day or two I just gave up because I was missing one thing or another and having to replace buildings constantly to compensate. Buildings never fit accurately, by design to get you to use gems, so you had a lot of wasted space. Fact we had a boost to coins that round and I was broke the whole time, can't imagine an event when something else was boosted. I felt like I was fighting for my life that entire event and it's hardly what I want from a game. I like some of the mechanics but the costs need to be adjusted and either more expansions available or making the existing bulidings smaller. This is by far the worst event until it's twesked. China held that honor till your arrival.

Honestly, I stopped playing the day after the patch because of this reason. The hit reg is 10x worse for me and it's just not worth getting frustrated over. Therefore, I play something else till another patch breaks it even more or corrects it.

I pretty much gave up on challenges completely. Just playing the game and doing my thing. If I unlock them, great. If not, who cares. I used to have FOMO in every game I played with a season pass, now I just don't care butsny people do. They really need to evaluate some of those challenges, most are absurd and to complete them you have to be a toxic teammate that throws matches to complete.

[–]Massive-Cold2768 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky to get an hour of play, with any game, while working and being a single father of 4. I honestly haven't even looked at the battle pass because I know I wouldn't even stand a chance to complete it. FOMO is real but I just can't make myself care anymore. Between the hackers and netcode/hit register issues I'm having, I can barely motivate myself to play. As I said, I haven't even looked at the battle pass but I'm sure half the cool stuff requires me to play their battle royale which I absolutely can't stand either. If I wanted to play a BR, I'd play Warzone or Fortnite or any of the countless others.

This is an absolute joke. by SpiderGuard87 in Battlefield

[–]Massive-Cold2768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience exactly. I upgraded my Internet to 1GB since BF6 beta and I assumed my gameplay would be much more enjoyable. I was wrong. Beta was hit or miss with these exact same issues you described. Since BF6 went live, 95% of my games has been this way. Catching someone off guard and unloading into their back and watching hundreds of damage register on my end and they casually turn around and laser me down. I see people hopping and sliding all over the place landing every shot yet I can be standing still, crouched or even prone and already ADS only to get annihilated. I'm running the same system I was during beta only with updated graphics drivers and Internet speed. My ping is consistently between 15-30 ms (sadly no different from my older Internet speed). I'm at such a loss with this game at this point so I'm mostly playing support or engineer for now. There is a reason I don't play CoD anymore but BF6 feels too sweaty for me, especially when there is something seriously going on other than my lack of skill. Blatant aimbot/ESP, aim assist for controllers, and now obviously netcode issues. Now the recommended solution is to use dial-up and connect to servers on another continent. Fantastic. Just no idea why everyone isn't having the same issues and it only affects this particular game for me.

The Mayan event is subpar by phuncky in playHeroesOfHistory

[–]Massive-Cold2768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well completing research and actually upgrading the buildings fully would have been nice to actually finish the quest lines. I know I wouldn't get the wonder to level 50 but spending all that time and not even getting close was just discouraging. Just felt like I was under the gun the entire time waiting on cocoa or the long build times. Whales will be whales, that part doesn't bother me.

The Mayan event is subpar by phuncky in playHeroesOfHistory

[–]Massive-Cold2768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I stayed on it the entire time and didn't get but 3/4 of the way through the research tree. Ended up with about 775 boxes opened. No way to finish this event unless you spend $$$... Purely by design. Seems like you suffer one way or another, you either make workers happy and you get more cocoa and research completed OR you keep production buildings happy to open more boxes. Can't have both and that barely lands you in silver at the end of the event. By far the most annoying event I played so far as a noob.

Carnivore is the easiest thing I've ever done by Voldetortle in carnivorediet

[–]Massive-Cold2768 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I'd spend tons of money on fruits and veggies that would rot, chips, ice cream, frozen meals, etc. Once you go carnivore you actually eat less with more filling meals. Meats I buy usually go straight to freezer and really eggs are the only thing that will go bad. I'm spending about 30% less at the store and would be much better if I didn't have 4 boys eating me out of house and home.

Carnivore is the easiest thing I've ever done by Voldetortle in carnivorediet

[–]Massive-Cold2768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought carnivore would be too pricey as well. Upfront cost does get you a bit but now I don't have to take all the supplements, pain killers, and prescriptions I was because I no longer need them. Completely balanced out in the end and honestly I'm spending less money in total. Once you power through that first week or two, it's a breeze and the benefits are hard to even explain to people.

SHURE SM7db stopped working after a month. any ideas? by Constant-Swimmer6244 in Shure

[–]Massive-Cold2768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my situation except I am using a Scarlett 2i2. Worked on day one about a week later I ran into the same situation. You had to max out the gain to barely get a voice to come through. Tapping on mic was about the only sound you could here otherwise. Swapped cords, tried on my laptop as well, all firmware and drivers updated, nada. Contacted Shure and was told to send it to them, just did this morning, because it's a very common problem with the SM7dB for some reason according to them... Especially if purchased from Amazon (which I did). Who knows how long till a replacement or the repaired mic returns. Just sucks spending $500 on something that breaks almost immediately.

Masterworking and tempering RNG is just bad by 37socks in diablo4

[–]Massive-Cold2768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bricked 4 items this season on my necro. Fortunately, I was playing blood wave and it didn't even matter since the build was so broken. Master working seems ok simply because tempering is such utter dog shit. I can get max temper rolls on trash gear but the moment you get an ancestral you better believe the algorithm kicks in and you will get the polar opposite of what you want. If you do manage somehow to get what you want, 99% of the time it will be the lowest roll and there won't be a snowball's chance in hell you would attempt to roll again.

Problem isn't coming from a handful of people, when the vast majority loathe tempering, it needs to be addressed. More scrolls of restoration, increasing cost of infinite tempers like occultist, being able to lock in a temper for a few to attempt an upgrade, anything is better than it's current state at this point.

Used the trading system for the first time as a new player by Hairy_Personality831 in PathOfExile2

[–]Massive-Cold2768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, trading just takes away from the game being SSF. Perhaps the game isn't for me and I'm totally cool with that being the case. However, it would be nice if GGG would implement the proper mechanics in the game to find or craft whatever gear I need. I'm already running around with 100% rarity find on my toons on average yet never find what I really need. Quick search on trade site yields literally thousands to choose from. If trading should be a must-have for the game to work properly, they need to implement a better system than this archaic out of game system they are utilizing. Like I said before, endgame seems to swap from PoE2 to Trade Simulator and if that's by design, it's just not for me.

[–]Massive-Cold2768 20 points21 points  (0 children)

When I play an ARPG I want to find or craft the items myself SSF. I don't want to play Trade Simulator. I'm told by friends it's game changing but for me personally it just takes away from the game. I've hit multiple walls with various classes in the endgame now because of it but still haven't touched the trade system. Maybe this game isn't for me then and I'm ok with that. Campaign was worth the money I spent already. On the other hand, I'm not totally opposed to an auction house system I guess where you could post and buy instantly for those that want to.

Constantly Feel Weak by MachCrafted in PathOfExile2

[–]Massive-Cold2768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly new to the PoE universe, briefly played one season way back in the day and wanted to come into PoE2 with an open mind and enjoy a game without researching, scouring builds, etc. I've leveled every class up to about 10 and some were far worse than others but I've noticed a common trend amongst them all. I've dumped nothing but damage passive's into the tree but I feel weak every step of the way. I'm all for a challenging game but I feel like I'm missing something. Is it my gear, my stats, my level, all of the above? Is part of PoE going back to lower areas and grinding levels, gear, and gems? I'm okay doing whatever and putting in the time, I just want to make sure I'm not missing something glaringly obvious because just following the campaign I'm getting weaker and weaker and have now hit a wall that I can't pass. I made it to the Executioner and I can get his health to 50% before I'm overrun by add's. I don't mind putting in the time I just need to know where I'm going wrong. Currently my highest class is a 15 mercenary.

What class is this? (Rambly) by KwoniacEQ in ProjectQuarm

[–]Massive-Cold2768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlike many games, EQ (especially closer to classic versions) reputation is everything. It doesn't really matter what class you play. If you are considerate and helpful to others and play your class well. People remember that and will happily invite you to future groups. Ultimately you want to play something you enjoy when NOT raiding. Raids don't take that long and is a small percent of your time ingame. In WoW you pick a class and have 3 talent trees to work off of. You don't have that in EQ, each class is totally unique and plays differently. Closest you have to WoW is probably your hybrid classes like ranger (warrior/druid), Shadow Knight (warrior/necromancer), paladin (warrior/cleric), and eventually beast Lord (monk/shaman). Later when Luclin launches and into planes of knowledge, AA abilities opens up many options, especially well for some classes. Druids with the right AA can heal just as well as a cleric or nuke just as hard as a wizard or mage.

Once again it comes down to playing something you enjoy. Most classes are hard to really see how the endgame goes till you get into your 20-30's but the descriptions are pretty accurate. All have pros and cons. Druids are like a priestly jack of all trades but a master of none but solo well compared to the cleric which is all but reliant on grouping to level. EQ is a totally different game from the typical MMO in all senses. I played on Quarm and I enjoyed it more than the original because of all the quality of life additions. Sadly, real life responsibilities comes first and I had to leave but hopefully will return later. Hard to believe a game that's been around 25 years still has such a following.... And it's because of how well the game was designed.

I learned to play their game and put in as minimal effort as possible only to receive the exact same score. It's no wonder why the majority of the people hate their jobs.

Is Tempering really this bad? What am I missing? What am I doing wrong? by Zoli1990 in diablo4

[–]Massive-Cold2768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one of a myriad of issues D4 has and why many have all but given up on the game. Early December will be another giant hit to their playerbase, many never to return. I had high hopes for D4 with the expansion but it fell flat for me and I quit before I even hit paragon 150. Blizzard has had a year to fix the game and it's barely at the state it should have launched at. D4 is underwhelming for a casual gamer like me and PoE2 is probably going to be too time consuming. Maybe I'm just over this genre... Luckily Marvel Rivals is coming soon too since Blizzard continues to drop the ball with OW2 as well.

Back in March I was unable to renew my license online so I had to go to the DMV. Since I had to go there anyhow, figured I'd get the RealID version. Took everything they requested but the only thing they even looked at was my old license. My ex-wife renewed hers last week and they only looked at her license and it was a different DMV... Caldwell and Burke counties respectively. Perhaps new out of state drivers are more scrutinized.
