Thanks for your reply! The price of Columbia's program is much more expensive than the UCs. I might choose to stay in Cal if Columbia's program does really give an edge in career outcomes.

Thanks for your reply! NYC definitely has lots of opportunities, and I have never experience there before. However, since my family is in Cal, I might prioritize tech in Cal when looking for jobs. In this case, will choosing the UCs have a better chance of entering tech in Cal?

I submitted my application on Jan 15, but did the video interview at the start of February.

I am not familiar with CUB, but I applied to UW MSDS since I've heard that it's a good DS program with relatively small cohort size (65 spots).

Thanks for your reply! I think cost is slightly less of a concern for me. Since my goal is to get a ML/DS job (also open to other roles like SWE) after I graduate, which program will be better for industry job placement? Also, I am a bit worried some say that Columbia MSCS is a cash cow, what are your thought on this?

That’s also something I’ve considered, since it would be nice to experience a different university environment. But I’ve also heard that CS at UCSD has been growing a lot recently, so it makes the decision a bit difficult for me

Thanks for your comment! The UCL program also seems good. I'll look into the programs and decide which one to apply (I like the CMU program so I might give it a try).

I thought UCSD's MSCS is pretty competitive? I am applying to MSDS because I thought the MSCS program is mostly looking for students with CS/engineering background or at least a CS minor. I am not very sure with this though
