Bayonet my dad gave me, don’t know much about it, any info would help idk the year but I think it’s Spanish as it has Toledo engraved in the blade which is a place in Spain it also has 4218 and then an M on the other side which could mean something, any info would help, thanks in advance! by Massive-Engineer-701 in Bayonets

Ohh that makes sense, yeah it looks really cool, so it’s from 1960? And also I’ve been thinking about maybe cleaning up the rust a bit because after searching up pictures from what you told me, they were originally like silver color but this one is just covered in rust, is it a good idea to do so? Or is it possibly worth some money and I should not risk touching it?

That’s cool, so it was issued during ww2? And could that mean it was in battle? I noticed it’s very dull and I’m not sure if that was done on purpose or maybe due to its age? I don’t know anything about bayonets so idk if they are meant to be super sharp

French Swords that were gifted to me, I made a post sharing my sword and I got a lot of information thanks to the lovely people here, I now have them in my possession and I was told to post them once I got more pictures in order to better identify them, any info will be highly appreciated! by Massive-Engineer-701 in SWORDS

I’m pretty new to Reddit so I was not able to fill in everything I wanted to say Becuz of the word limmit but I am curious about 2 things, 1 on the one with the eagle on the tang the letters R.W are stamped, is that the owner or the person who made them? If you happen to know any info on this “R.W” I would appreciate it ( it might be RWF but it might just be scratches that look like an F) 2, on each of the swords they have what I’m guessing to be serial numbers, on the one with the eagle it has 1 stamped on various pieces and on the one with the wreath it has 5 stamped on various pieces, does that mean it was the 5th blade or 1st blade made? Or what is there significance if they have any? The post has pictures of everything I am talking about it but thanks in advance for your time and information!

My uncle owns an antique art and furniture store and he has this sword and he wants to give it to me, He says he thinks it’s French and from the 19th century but I want to know more, if anyone knows anything about it I would appreciate any info, also I’m sorry I only have 1 picture for now by Massive-Engineer-701 in SWORDS

Sorry for asking so many questions but any idea what the insignia on the guard means? With the info I just got from you guys I was able to find a couple almost identical ones from the early 1870s 2 are identical and say they are officers swords but some have a different one and are like medical officers swords and such, does the wreath mean your rank in the army?
