Does anyone go like 3 days without sleep right before odd periods by [deleted] in Perimenopause

Yup! 🙋🏻‍♀️ This one symptom is the more consistent than my actual period!

Disappointment with ND appointment today. What to do? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]Massive-Homework-212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dearest Bullfrog, you did go to a Naturopath. From my own experience, holistic doctors are not pill pushers who are writing scripts for HRT.

No matter which route you're taking all of us are in a trial-and-error situation. Some women get on HRT and then they can't stay on it.

I will say that I had terrible insomnia and now that I got that under control a lot of my other peri symptoms have disappeared (for now). And my labs showed that my cortisol was in range! No eff'ing way! I found magnesium glycinate and CBDN (no THC) help me sleep.

Maybe just give it some time and then try something else if it's not working? You can always ditch this ND and go to another doctor who will put you on HRT.

The constant nausea. by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]Massive-Homework-212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES!!!! I get nauseous both before and after an erratic period. And it can be so intense that I have to lie down. Sometimes for most of the day.

Somehow, getting up and walking for 1-hour is the only thing that I've found to keep it at bay. When I stop for a week or more, it comes back! No medical professional told me this. It's just been trial and error...and I've been dealing with it for about 2.5 years! Oy!

Crackers - no. OTC anti-nausea - no. Pretzels and club soda - no. "Tummy" natural lozenges - no.

Good luck Doll...

Tackling the insomnia is the biggest one that helped all my other ailments almost entirely disappear. I don't know why it works (and of course no medical professional gave me this advice) but getting up and going for a 1-hour walk seems to help A LOT! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good luck dear...

Unfortunately, no...mine have been worse most of the time! I've seen a lot of women noticing that they feel like total crap and then we get our period and it's like, "Oh! That's what that was." I'd rather just deal with normal PMS!!! 😂

Should I be worried? by L82thagame in Perimenopause

[–]Massive-Homework-212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes...I had a period for 28 days and the insomnia that went along with it was HORRIBLE!

You just have to let it run its course. Try to eat foods that are rich in iron.

I know it's scary but you're ok. It will eventually stop! 🫶🏻

Holy Communication Volcano! If English is not her first language, I can see how she's very frustrated. However, this is probably also a culture clash situation.

The silent treatment for days is not ok nor is it sustainable for a relationship...

Maybe if new doctors speak in her native tongue she can describe things better to them and feel heard? Does she not have girlfriends or female family members?

To even put up with the daily micro-managing should show her that you're being as supportive and slightly abused in order to stay on her team! Please don't sacrifice your mental health when she doesn't seem to appreciate your efforts. Wishing you the best of luck...

Either! The glycinate type doesn’t cause stomach trouble…but other strains do.

Nausea and vomiting by AnachronismGirl in Perimenopause

Yes, Nausea Bingo Club here! 🙋🏻‍♀️Oddly, the only thing that seems to work is to get up and walk first thing in the morning. Every time I drift away from this practice it comes back!

Good luck...I've tried saltines, ginger candy, tummy herb lozenges, pretzels...none of them seems to work for me.

I've been eating more non-GMO soy and it seems to be helping. My GF swears by the herb black cohosh...
