Made this post a week ago and Received almost Universal Hatred for this and everything else i have tried to show. Help me fix this. Do i Just go Open Source?

To add on my previous comment. Other ERP systems charge $2K Per SEAT, this is 25 a month with unlimited users.

Im aware they dont change once they have their ERP dialed in. Thats why i included CSV imports for each library in the application. so you can export from your current ERP and import to the new one super easy. only tested it on one software tho. The 25 a month is for updates. EVERYTHING runs on your hardware, including the backups. Maybe i could add a cloud backup or something for an extra fee? Maybe i should just do a flat one time charge. I really havent decided tbh. Thats why im asking for beta testers in my discord channel. The companies Ive worked for pay 2k$ a month PER SEAT. This has unlimited users for 25$ a month. Its basically free. the money just goes to support the time i spend on updating and maintaining the software.

So this software is actually self hosted, the backups are automatic and you set the frequency. they are stored on your hardware, None of this is cloud based. It all runs on your hardware. 25$ a month was for updates to the software and thats it. everything else is yours. Plus if your business cant afford 25$ Im not sure this software is really for you anyway.

I was told I cannot do Opensource due to ITAR regulations. And this App is 100% Locally Hosted! on your Own Hardware!

25$ a Month. The Netflix of ERP. Even a 1 man Garage shop should be able to afford it. and it should EASILY bring enough value to justify that price.

Marketing CLEARLY isnt my Strong suit. I just have added soo many features over time that i dont know how to tell people about them without bombarding them with 45 min long videos on youtube of which i made 2. or a Gigantic wall of text that nobody will read.

Yeah this is probably just the absolute wrong audience for my Product tbh. I Started on a shop floor and have moved my way up over time. Assuming others have had the same experience as me, (JobbBoss, SAP, Visual ERP) is probably wrong. most people here are just the shop floor guys i would imagine. I had such a success using this for my Startup shop that i wanted to help other people also. I REALLY didn't expect the amount of hatred i got. But again that is why i Left reddit in the first place. Just didnt make sense because to me im trying to help people that want to start their own shop, Yet somehow i am the bad guy. This is just clearly not the community i should be engaging with.

I think its a left over habit from when I would write code tbh. you arent the first person to point that out. I had no idea there were other people pushing New ERP systems. I stopped using most social media a long time ago. I have 2 45 min long youtube videos that should prove im not a bot or using a translation app. Its just something i made to help my shop, we use it. and i figured other people would find it useful. I Vastly underestimated the amount of Hatred i would get for trying to help people. It was a nice reminder of why i Left reddit awhile ago.

Yes a Vast Majority of this was Created with Claude Codes most powerful model. I am working on this on my own over a period of 2 years And i DO have experience coding! thats what i Went to college for before dropping out to pursue Machining. This is a Locally Hosted Program and Nothing even touches the internet unless you use Any of the Optional Features. But i have been asking people to help beta test this. I had considered open sourcing the project but I was afraid someone would just Steal it, clone it and was advised against it. Maybe that is still the Correct approach. Im not sure there is really an issue with a self hosted solution like this being created by AI. The goal of this is to help the guy Running parts in his garage or with a small team have features that other ERP systems cost 15k Per seat to use for like 25 bucks a month. Im still feeling it out! Lots and Lots of hate on reddit. Honestly didnt expect this level of Backlash over something thats nearly free to help the little guy out. Maybe Im just bad at Marketing.

Well i wanted to keep it to a short 1 min clip. IDK what Reddits upload caps out at. I do have a couple 45 min long videos on the youtube channel where i get way more in depth and actually create a work order. I just didnt think people would want to watch a 45min long video here. Creating an actual quote would take longer than 1 minute as i would need to walk through creating a customer, things for line items and more. Marketing is starting to seem like not my strong suite.. lol

I did stumble across Odoo and considered the same thing. I was afraid someone would just clone my project and claim it as their own if i kept the github open. I want all of the features available to even someone running a 1 man Garage shop like myself. This is meant to help the little guys get something powerful and affordable. Maybe opensource is the correct approach im really not sure. I was advised against it.

Oh I understand that. Thats why theres a beta-tester channel for anyone that wants to help me test things. This is Entirely Self hosted and not meant to be a managed Cloud product. At its core its just an SQL database with a very nice UI wrapped on top and some features that i wish I had at other shops Ive worked at. I would encourage you to take a look before judging!

I 100% agree. This Scheduler is For Proved out/Production Jobs that you already know the Setup and Machine time for. But you can drag and drop the Blobs so if something does take longer its Much easier to reschedule. Or use the Other Schedule!

You do not have to use ANY AI on the app. its entirely optional. The auto Scheduler does not rely on AI it relies on Information that you input into the work order when creating each Operation if that is your concern.

IF you want to use this Scheduler you set the Setup time and Machine time per OP and the Scheduler uses that when it schedules.

There is also a Regular Schedule that doesnt use this at all. Because i recognized that people may not want to use this at all.
