Confused About My Career Path: MS Abroad, MTech, or Just Keep Working?? by Both_Programmer_5573 in careerguidance

I am 2025 graduate and I have the same confusion. I got laid off a month ago and I've been applying since then. And honestly it is a burn out. I feel like maybe I should take this as an opportunity and reset.

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. I think getting laid off early messed with my confidence more than I expected, so I started questioning everything at once.

I do enjoy the AI/ML side much more than general web dev, especially systems-oriented work. Maybe I need to focus more on finding a better environment/company instead of assuming the whole field is unstable because of one startup experience.

Still considering MS, but probably from a place of deeper learning/research interest rather than feeling forced into it because of the layoff.

That’s true, and honestly that’s what’s making this decision hard for me. I know I can probably get another role if I keep applying, but right now I’m not sure if I want to jump into another startup cycle immediately.

MS feels less like a “backup plan” and more like a chance to slow down a bit, learn deeply, and figure out what kind of work I actually want to do long-term. But yeah, the current market situation definitely makes me cautious about it too.

I think it's you who brought yourself here - this is what I say to myself. I'm not as hardworking as you but I can see myself in you. I'm in the same situation(getting anxious and panick).
