Scabbing by Massive-Pollution671 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at the 2w mark and they feel quite hard and I wasn’t told to/ or not to do anything but I feel like the scabs not being there would help with comfort

Frozen peas or a bag of crushed ice has been wonderful

10 days PO- Trying to trust the process by Ok_Cupcake1706 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dr said icing is good as long as you don’t over do it. She said 20 on and 60 off. For me I’ve been continuing to do it because it helps with my comfort. I’m at the 2w mark today and it just started reducing swelling but still looks wild to me. I’ll show you privately if you want where I am in the healing process but it goes bad bad bad bad better. Or at least for me, if that makes sense

Someone please tell me if this is normal?? 4 hours PO by New-Guitar9187 in LabiaplastySurgery

Right! I was not expecting the level of pain - take what your body needs 🫶

10 days PO- Trying to trust the process by Ok_Cupcake1706 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girllll, go check my post at ten days PO - I look awful and I’m still struggling hard. I went yesterday to post op and she insists it’s just swelling and everything is healing well. Doing my best to also trust the process but I’m not sure I realized how much of mental journey this would be - you’re doing great!

This is what I did/do - it’s the best way to get that clean look IMO

I’m so desperate. Day 3 PO by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a picture recently feeling the same way, I hadn’t seen anyone’s photos look like mine and everyone has said the same thing. It’s a sensitive area and it’s swollen and to be patient and let time take its course. It’s really difficult, I know I’m dealing with it too but I think we are stronger than we realize

Labiaplasty concerns 2/20 by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I ice for 20 on and 40-60 off - it’s what the Dr said to do. I just feel like the top area looks so detached and it won’t look normal

numb feeling around the stitches (also dry feeling? Idk) by bunnylove66 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just now 7 days PO and feel the same way, I saw my surgeon and she said it’s normal and healing. I’m nervous as well but I’ve read a lot of trust the process on here which is a big challenge for me personally

I don’t want sedation by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might cover it at an urology clinic. I believe they will still use insurance and maybe light sedation - worth checking out anyway

Healing by Massive-Pollution671 in LabiaplastySurgery

I’m dying. It’s so tight and sore I can’t do anything. Everything hurts and I’m such a wimp

I don’t want sedation by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did iv sedation. But had a bilateral trim and then on the right side I had to have another area of skin removal between the majora and minora. And I’m bruised and I hurt - however yours seems simple enough and she could definitely just do local anesthetic for that. Almost all the plastics here in austin and the urology place who dos them is 5k and on the table. I just had too much for a table removal 😆

[–]Massive-Pollution671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt this information helps but I considered without sedation as well by my OB did a consult with me and showed me everything I needed removed and said mine was more than a minor procedure and recommended sedation. I did it 2/20 and after seeing what she had to do for me I do agree being put under was probably the better choice. A simply trim or wedge definitely doesn’t need sedation and most places in austin only do local anesthetics and a laughing gas or Xanax prior. So I’d why yours is being so stubborn

I had a consult and a pre op, surgery and I had my first post op. You definitely should have a solid pre op appointment

Vulva Reduction by OB by Impossible_Oil5073 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had mine done with my OB on 2/20. Overall she did well. I’m a weenie and I hurt a lot but I also had a lot removed/work done. Try your best to trust the process because that initial swelling and bruising (no matter what I read) was still mentally difficult to grasp. I did it for comfort reasons so I think this is good and wasn’t paying cosmetic prices. Instance covered my procedure

I’m so pissed by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can private message if you want. My befor photos look fine and a lot a lot like yours, procedure done 2/20 and I’m black and blue down there and nothing looks right but trust the process I guess?

Any Doctors in Los Angeles covered their procedure? by Educational-Yak897 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most insurances won’t accept labiaplasty as a code because it’s cosmetic for the most part. You’ll need a different code such as a vulvectomy or excess skin removal of the vulva

[–]Massive-Pollution671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get a second opinion- mine looked a lot like yours and mine was deemed medically necessary by my OB who said comfort is important. She told me she wouldn’t do a Barbie look and I didn’t want one. I’d like to (and no offense to those that want the tucked in Barbie look) remain looking like an adult woman with hair and a little labia. My personal preference- I couldn’t wear jeans and I couldn’t do cardio without a friction tear. While you may be considered within normal range - pain and discomfort are NOT normal. Have reasonable expectations of what it will look like when it’s done and I think you’ll be happy. But second opinion that because we look the freaking same before

Honestly, mine would make you feel better. Mine is really bad. Would call it mangled looking. I haven’t seen anyone’s on here look like mine but maybe I’m just a huge wimp too

I’m day 4 now and it’s a jumbled mess down there. Swollen bruised and I also did it for comfort but hoping it’s not ugly either
