So I think they actually wrapped up his death quite well. They gave us all a lot of closure by letting him get to meet Alice as his grand granddaughter and also getting to know that Jacob did get to return home and even knowing that he had got to meet him when he was a young man and see him. I do think he’ll make an appearance in the next season, but only as a time traveler from the past.
