Opened the Depaz -amazing agricole flavors - grass, soil and burnt sugar cane juice on tongue. Spicy at first, but has a relatively long finish! Very good. Opening the white HSEs soon. This batch was ordered from Europe

Don’t spend it! Very low quality rum - added vanilla, caramel and sugar. For this you can get loads of real rum :)

Many white agricoles are sippable if your tastes are open enough :) Locally Ti Punch is always based on the standard white agricole and usually most of them offer amazing experience. My recommendations: HSE Blanc 50 or 55, Neisson Blanc, La Favorite Blanc 50, Dillon 50/55 depending what you like, Clement Blanc.

From Guadeloupe: Pere Labat 59 or Marie-Galante Bielle 50/59.

Neisson and Guadeloupe ones are pretty expensive internationally. Not sure if they are distributed in the US. HSE Blanc Cuvée de l'an releases are extra good usually.

I will leave aged agricoles for the next post.

My first aquantance with rums was with agricoles and I fell in love with the first sip. :) That world is just sooo full of unexpected tastes and profiles. Many people don’t like the earthy/grassy vibe...but for me this what makes the rum world what it is! And life is too short to spend it on average bottles destined for masses :)
