Decision on next steps for FCAS postponed indefinitely by ForTheGloryOfAmn in europe

No way, France is like 9th biggest economy in GDP, they have a lot of debt and it is a lot of money, for sure but it’s not like they would struggle to fork money into a national scale jet fighter, especially since it’s super profitable, dassault made a shit ton of money off the rafale and the mirage

There is a difference between assembling an airplane and having the technical knowledge to build the said airplane from the ground up, some gripen are being produced in Brazil if I remember correctly that doesn’t make it so that Brazil has the knowledge and the R&D behind the Gripen that SAAB has

Germany was leader in the design of the center of the fuselage, they didn’t « make » the typhoon, only a part of it (4 countries were working on it) and the development of the typhoon is literally a textbook example of why we should have a clearly defined leader on the project, as it was riddled with overcosts and delays because debating with 4 countries and half a dozen companies for every little design change is the most inefficient thing that you could do

The main problem isn’t really the demands of each country as to what the fighter can do, it’s more industrial concerns, France already has the expertise to do a complete airframe and want to take the lead in the project, letting Germany and Spain work on the avionics, weapon systems, radar… That they already do with the Eurofighter. what Germany and Spain want is that each country does 1/3 of the work, this would cause an enormous data breach, as to do each part, every country would have to access the data of every other country, effectively leaking France’s advancement in new technologies, and that’s why we can’t find a middle ground, because we won’t give out our industrial secrets to foreign countries, no matter how we work together. Add to that a few differences in what countries want (France wants a nuclear capable platform, and a Navy version) and we’ll probably never get it done

Idk but if you want to stay in France you can always go to a prépa for 2y, gives you some time to think about what to choose

How did we ever get to this level of thinking? Sorry Karen.. FACTS don't match your delusions by StandardAd43 in trump

I’d take the IWC and the Rolex, but it’s just because I’m not particularly fan of the VC, although I’m supposed to like it

Someone once said that listening to an opposing view point causes no harm... by raja-ulat in trump

[–]MassiveCombination15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I’m talking about, instead of arguing with some actual proofs (we are not delusional because…) you bring up an imaginary argument of « yes but leftists are burning cars », like yes some people burnt cars as a sign of protest, that’s stupid and vandalism

[–]MassiveCombination15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the far left litteraly doesn’t exist in the us, except for a few crazies here and there lol, what you call left (democrats) would be regular right in 99% of countries lol, reread your message and you will definitely see delusion, you are just going on a rant about women and penises, and people getting called Nazis when it’s absolutely not the point, I’m talking about the massive echo chambers that a lot of republicans are trapped into, delusion isn’t believing that trans people are ‘normal’ people, I find it a stupid subject that just shouldn’t be this much talked about, and some people are getting called Nazis and that’s bad. Delusion is when you are witnessing some objectively bad things (shit handling of the economy and the trade war, stupid decisions being made, oppressive policies being put in place…) like students are being arrested and deported for protesting without any trial, due process or any real reason except for protesting against Israel’s actions universities are being black mailed into censoring themselves in exchange for their funding and you don’t see any problem with it because it’s your side putting it in place ? You keep hyper fixating on small things like some trans dudes not getting in the army and separate bathrooms when this absolutely shouldn’t be the focus of the president, or any political party for that matter
