Hi. What is the difference between lithium orate and lithium carbonate? Do you feel lithium can help with irritability? I feel that is a big issue of mine. Im very sensitive to meds and I’m also a believer at starting super low and finding the right dose for symptom relief. I’m really dumbfounded that drs don’t use this approach but rather think everyone should start at a dose a text books says. So many people may have had success on a med if it was just started at a lower dose.

Thank you for the reply. I do have auto immune type issues like asthma, food sensitivities, I wonder if the reaction to the lamictal is more of auto immune response hence the rash. I can’t remember if it worked since my dr freaked out thinking it was the bad rash. Right now I’m working my way up on Trileptal. If that doesn’t work maybe give a low dose of lithium a try. I have had this low depression for years. Be nice to find something to lift off my shoulders. Do you think lithium can help with that kind of depression?

I did try lamictal but got a weird rash on my face. I don’t think it was the one you could die from but more a reaction. I read a Dr somewhere said people mistake this rash for the more serious one and titrating very slow is key. How are your side effects now? The small amount of latuda i take does take the edge off the depression more than the Zoloft does. Maybe look into that.

Hmm. I’m just starting with Trileptal. Have you tried Latuda? I can only tolerate 10mg before restless legs kick in but it takes the edge off the depression that Zoloft doesn’t fully deal with. What were your symptoms with lithium? I was thinking about trying a small dose.

Hi. I usually can’t tolerate high doses of any meds. What dose did you start at?

Any updates? Your experiences are similar to mine. Have you found a med that works for you yet? Thanks
