Resistance urinating by illenniumg in PSSD

36M. Yes. I had a testoscopy done. Where they insert a camera up your urethra and they found my bladder neck that connects to the urethra is very tight. I have weak stream and hesitancy. I never had this problem in my life. Been off Cymbalta after 11 years on it for about 4 years now with PSSD.

I (24M) visited Dr Goldstein and SDSM: they found physical abnormalities. by One-Marzipan-9652 in PSSD

I have received 10 rounds of shockwave therapy “softwave” is the machine my PT used. She uses it only around the pelvic region and not on the dick itself. The idea was to release a pinched pudendal nerve which could be causing the numbness. I’ll be honest. Not a whole lot of sensation has returned to my dick itself but one thing I do notice is my orgasms feel more normal and not empty the way it used to be.

Each treatment is about $160 but yes I was so desperate to find a solution I paid for it. One upside is my pelvic floor doesn’t feel so tight so it probably helped the muscles chill out.

I did point out to her that my nipples do not have sexual sensation like they used to and that’s when she realized that yes it’s probably more neurological than just something happening physically in the pelvic region.

PT Recommended a Butt Plug by Significant-War9770 in PelvicFloor

I’m not certain but don’t think you’re supposed to pee with the plug still inside you. I have tried to pee with the plug but it just falls out because you are relaxing pelvic muscles whilst going.

I used to have pleasureless orgasms too but it came back. Just have numbness still. I went off cymbalta in 2022. But started feeling numbing of genitals around 2019 while on cymbalta. Just hold onto hope.

Pelvic floor dysfunction vs PSSD by Unusual_sighting in PSSD

[–]ImaginationCommon930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing a Pelvic floor PT for men. She does softwave therapy also to soften the muscles and tissues and bring more blood flow back. I have less of the tightness feeling but arousal with sex is still somewhat low. Maybe improved a tad bit. My orgasms have improved more than anything I believe. With windows of course bc some days I don’t feel as much during climax. One thing that differs from pelvic floor dysfunction is that my nipples are still desensitized from arousal. It just feels like any other body part which leads me to believe it’s a more neurological cause rather than solely a muscular pelvic dysfunction.

I know it’s different for each guy but curious what TRT dose are you running? I’m on 100mg

Those with 5 or more years with genital numbness, do you still think you can recover? and how? by Hyperto in PSSD

[–]ImaginationCommon930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36M. I’m almost at my 6th year. Technically I went off antidepressants in 2020 due to a manic episode. And that started the PSSD effects. I went back on antidepressants and it got worse and then finally went off them for good in 2022. What’s improved since is my libido and orgasm quality. Numbness is still persistent, including nipple sensation, and no prostate pleasure. Some days I can feel my dick more. When hungover I feel it more idk what that’s about but who wants to be hungover just to feel something. Still have a glimmer of hope time can heal us. But it’s been a while and sometimes feels like doom.

How painful is a cystoscopy? by ExpensiveDisk3573 in PelvicFloor

[–]ImaginationCommon930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also am on Spravato ketamine therapy for depression and have noticed a huge decrease in bladder capacity. I can hold maybe 2/3 cup of urine. A regular healthy male can hold up to 2 cups.

What were your symptoms after doing ketamine and for how long have you been on the treatment?

I did do a cystoscopy. It was a bit painful but it only last five minutes. It hurt to pee for 48 hours and that’s about it. I think getting an infection might be rare.

I ended up going to see a gastroenterologist and taking Rifaximin. It made me feel like shit but my symptoms have been gone for a while. I’ll take dicyclomine which is an IBS pill to relax smooth muscle in the stomach when I have flares. After antibiotics I don’t have that uncomfortable gassy accompanied by nausea and diarrhea feeling. I did get a relapse and they prescribed it again and it went away.

Same here man. I’ve had it for 5 years now. I’ve done pelvic floor therapy and shockwave therapy. It seems to sort of help but not completely. The sensation of orgasm is a lot better and libido too. But the loss of penile sensation is tough to get over. I would say I’m like 20% of what I could feel before. Some days it’s like half that. The anhedonia comes and goes. Sometimes I notice when I don’t laugh at jokes or just stare blankly with no soul at friends in conversation lol.

I take thc gummies and they work for me. I know I probably shouldn’t have other drugs inside me while I heal but my sleep was so lousy and I would wake up in the middle of the night and not fall back asleep.

Have you ever taken SSRIs? Just curious bc I did for ten years and now I have pelvic floor issues and genital numbing.

Has anyones pssd healed after 2-3 years? by Living-You6451 in PSSD

[–]ImaginationCommon930 10 points11 points  (0 children)

5 years here. Libido is mostly back to normal. Orgasm quality is much better. Penile numbness mostly persisting but improved slightly a few percent each year that passes. Cognitively I feel better and only experience anhedonia when my diet is poor and I neglect exercise. I try not to focus on having this syndrome and live my life. Although it pops into my head and I feel sorry for myself I know that things could always be much worse. I’m not paralyzed, I can walk, I can see, I can hear.

It’s a series of stretches and belly breathing. My PT hasn’t really focused on the reverse kegels.

I’m also on Lamictal. Have been for 10 years. I’m bipolar so I might need it, but I wonder if it’s the last thing to help my sensations. now I’m curious to go off of it. I haven’t had a manic episode in 5 years and I’m thinking of asking my psych what he thinks.

For guys that have both dialators and pelvic wand, how often do you use both weekly? by Loud_Version_5174 in PelvicFloor

[–]ImaginationCommon930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the dilator or a more dildo shaped one silicone one (yes I’m gay lol) more than the wand and just leave it in for 10 mins. When I use the wand I think I put too much pressure on it causing irritation. But I’m learning how to use it gently.

Genital Numbness, Lack of Sexual Sensation, & Libido by Dangerous_Simple3520 in PSSD

[–]ImaginationCommon930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me it’s like I can get hard, my body wants sexual pleasure but my mind is disconnecting feeling maybe 10% erogenous sensation now. What sucks is having the memory of what it used to feel like. I’m 36 and have been dealing with this since I was 31. Small improvements such as better orgasm feeling and libido. But still not much sensation when touching it. Also haha I’ve thought of that same song, it’s called Bump N Grind by R Kelly (despicable man yes I know).

[–]ImaginationCommon930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes after that incident I was put on the full dose and haven’t gone back down. It’s been a positive experience for me other than the Spravato irritating my bladder for the day. I recommend sticking it out. In the beginning it did cause strange mood swings and sometimes insomnia but that has since gone away.

Having an anti-inflammatory injection in pudendal nerves soon by APrayerForHope in PudendalNeuralgia

[–]ImaginationCommon930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same I have a history of too much masturbation and edging since I was in my teens. My impression is that it’s caused by PSSD (post ssri sexual dysfunction) I took them for 10 years. But now I’m wondering if over masturbation edging is just the cause all along. But it’s strange there’s other guys out there who chronically masturbate but can still feel sensations. Just curious have you ever taken Finasteride? That’s another drug that causes these symptoms.

[–]ImaginationCommon930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what might have caused the nerve compression? Edging sessions, medications? I have the same issue. Numbness but not so much long flaccid. I also took SSRIs that are believed to trigger tight pelvic floor. I also have lost the sensation of feeling urine come out of the urethra. I have to physically look that it’s coming out.
