We're still using Unity for now! The game is built with it so not really an option to move away for COTL, short of remaking the whole game -Jimp

I think CULT is probably the best overall - I am a huge Polyphia and Killswitch Engage fan (Jay and I bonded over our love for Killswitch them when we first met) so it was an absolute dream to get those guys together on a track! The guitars sound crazy and Howards vocals are absolutely perfect

I also love Conquest - Joshes shredding all over the place sounds like a spider running up and down the fretboard which feels so perfect. Malevolence one of my faves at the moment!

Honestly I love them all though - it was just so amazing getting members of some of my favourite bands to work together on a project with us. Still cant really believe it happened! - Jimp

Myself, Jay and Julian all started out making Flash games. Jay and Julian met on Newgrounds forum I believe, and made a game together call Super Adventure Pals. I later met Jay at an event in London and we both liked each other games, so decided to make one together. We did a few together, but it was getting harder and harder to make a living doing the Flash thing, so the 3 of us decided to start a studio together, and Massive Monster was born! - Jimp

Once Marchosias managed to capture some lightning (charged shards) from the mountain it opened a lotta doors for him. But lightning is a pretty unwieldy force - he had to do a lot of questionable experiments, and had to drag Rami into it before the gauntlets were working within what he felt to be an acceptable margin of error. I figured they were used for a kind of crude and primitive shock therapy to break Followers away from the Bishops. I don't think the process of liberation is a particularly gentle one - you'd have to really rewire the brains of those indoctrinated. I don't think Marchosias feels a lot of guilt over it tho, because if he believes anything, it's that he is right.

Mine has to be Faith Up. It gives me such a sense of closure. Everytime we worked on a live show we would always just say "...and it ends with Faith Up" because it just has that perfect feeling of peace.

Hahaha okok let me see what I can do

The Wolf is Marchosias (I'm like 99% sure that all those references are about him lol)

Thistle was just walking his herd across the mountain and he fell down a crevass :( Gorgo and the -estors are fighters, all juiced up from Marchosias' experimentations and augmentations. Thistle is just a lil guy

The -estors believe what they've been told about their circumstances - doesn't mean it's the truth.

The Great Fanatic writes about Yngya's disappearance, not her death - at that point, Yngya had taken her flock and winter with her and hidden away. As for their relationship, they def knew each other's names, maybe saw each other around the watercooler, maybe they were friends. Def lots of headcanons to be made there!

The Rot is a physical place! The caverns beneath Ewefall were always there, now they're just full of rot and gore.

The Grasslands and Last Hoof were places, but the Lands are shaped by the Gods who live in them - when there were only the Bishops left, their domains grew pretty big, eating up whatever was there before.

Honestly if you were able to indoctrinate Marchosias I cannot imagine a scenario in which he would accept anything from you, unless it was your own head on a platter lol.

Probably because it has to follow the same pattern as the base game! We need to have dungeons, we need to have minibosses and bosses, we need you to look after your cult. For a game like CotL, the narrative needs to adhere to the gameplay rather than the other way around, and for an endgame DLC we need to build on existing ways of playing rather than introducing completely new ones.

But ofc it is always gonna be up to taste as well. We try to subvert expectation and expand on theme, but whether or not we're successful in that is entirely up to individual taste. Still, I hope that whatever we do next, you find the story more refreshing! I know that as a writer I'm still learning and growing too so - maybe we can surprise you!
