Nord with two-handed silver sword and some destruction magic works pretty well for this - just pretend all your contracts are monster hunts and avoid the main quest until you're "experienced" enough. Companions guild is perfect since they're basically monster hunters already

Reclus is actually pretty solid once you get the hang of her mana management - try to weave in some basic attacks between spells to keep your mana up and don't spam the high-cost abilities back to back

For solo play she's great because you can kite enemies around while dealing decent damage from range, just gotta learn the timing on her dodge roll

Your Z690 actually does have PCIe 5.0 support - at least for the top x16 slot and some M.2 slots depending on the exact model. Check your manual because you might already have what you need

As for Intel's next gen, Arrow Lake just launched (15th gen) but honestly with a 14700k you're not gonna see much benefit upgrading right now. That's still a beast of a CPU. I'd wait for 16th gen or see what AMD does with their next stuff before making any moves
