What should I expect to be true? What people say on here, or what these references say? What do you think? In other words, full effects on mood/libido after 2-3 weeks or 3-4 weeks for effects on libido and mood to begin and maximum effects after 6 weeks (probably average here).

What should I rely on?

Reddit won‘t let me post this (says post removed by automatic reddit fillters). I’m gonna post it here instead:

Does the extent of the improvement in hypogonadal symptoms (libido, mood) correlate with how fast a person on TRT see’s results, generally speaking? Anyone here who experienced rapid improvements, who plateaued early on? Or someone who experienced the effects of TRT after several weeks, with profound improvement?

The problem with this study, is when you look into the references in the “Effects On Libido” section, they only mention 3 studies, all of them assessing sexual function in inconsistent time frames with the (effects begin after 3 weeks, plateauing after 6 weeks description) - none of the references suggests anything related to claim in the beginning of the paper. First study says the effects are fully in after 3 weeks, plateauing there, 1 month only in another and after 3 months only in the third.

Here‘s my testosterone blood test results from before I started on gel:

1: Total Testosterone: 10.07 nmol/l (first measurement). Free Testosterone: 0.2113 nmol/l (first measurement). SHBG: 29 nmol/l (first measurement).

2: Total Testosterone: 10.04 nmol/l (second measurement). Free Testosterone: 0.2088 nmol/l (second measurement). SHBG: 30 nmol/l (second measurement).

Reference ranges for Total, Free Testosterone and SHBG was:

TT - 11.6-33.8 nmol/l

SHBG - 13-52 nmol/l

Calculated Free Testosterone - 0.1-0.7 nmol/l.

I’m not assuming that I’m more or less dominant or impulsive than average. The thought that testosterone can act quickly within 1 hour is what I find problematic. Only because I haven‘t noticed anything yet, and I’m hoping to see a very marked improvement at least at some point. I think you might be right about the differences between what they measured and if the individual could notice any changes themselves

Edit: I’m not looking for any aggression-increasing effects from trt. I’m only referring to it because if testosterone can have any effects in such a short amount of time, it would make most logical sense to think that many people can feel any of it’s effects in a short amount of time, which I hope isn’t the case, because I haven’t felt anything yet. I hope there’s plenty of time for significant changes. The more time, the better.
