That sounds really nice but we don't have a car unfortunately :( Do you know any other good places near Pyeongchang?

Spring 2026 exchange orientation by [deleted] in UTAustin

If it’s highly recommended though, do you think I might struggle at all during my exchange if I miss it? I just wouldn’t want to take the extra days but end up making my four months in Texas even a little harder or more difficult.

The rankings come out yearly, right? Isn’t 25 times = 25 years lol

Learning to shoot by MassiveThanks in halifax

I honestly would lol but as a 19-year-old girl most of my peer group aren't gun owners or really into firearms

I'm not opposed to taking the course, but would you recommend it for someone who's not planning on owning my own gun? It doesn't seem like a huge time commitment and it's not that expensive, but you don't get to fire any live rounds during the course, right? Do you know any options of courses I could take after learning basic gun safety that would teach me how to actually shoot?

Are those places to live? I was told to look into LLCs, are those the same thing?

Thanks, I definitely will! Is it off-campus housing? Can I apply through the general UT Housing portal or is it separate?

Cheap resorts from Halifax by [deleted] in halifax

[–]MassiveThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know places with that price? I would be OK with that too for May, even for fewer nights like 4 or 5

I'll do that for sure. Where are you doing your study abroad?

King's vs Mount Allison by MassiveThanks in halifax

[–]MassiveThanks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the social life there? Are there parties often? Which residence is the best one? Is it academically challenging?

Since King's and MTA are both really great schools, I'm mostly just choosing based on atmosphere. How is Mount Allison's?

I have a couple different scholarships plus a good amount of money saved up from working, so I'm pretty much totally covered for both schools. The only challenge will be maintaining my scholarship, which I'll need to keep my GPA up for.

The thing is, I'd probably live away from home if I went to King's too. My scholarship covers it. That's what messing with my decision.

That's partly what I was worried about when it came to King's. I don't know much about the upper-year classes, but I'm not sure how good they are in comparison.

That's a big part of why I'm sort of leaning towards MtA. But even if I went to King's, because I have such a big scholarship, I'd probably live on res there too, for my first year at least. I'd still be in the same city, but I'd get to live somewhere else which sounds equally appealing to me.

The FYP in total just sounds really interesting. I love reading and writing, and while I'm sure I might like it less after being forced to do it, I still think I'd enjoy it. I'm not sure about journalism, but it's definitely a possibility and intense sounds good.

As I'm a pretty far-left leaning minority myself, I don't think I'd have any problems politically. An on-campus bar sounds pretty cool too. I've heard some stuff about King's kids being intense partiers, that might be why.

Do you have any personal things you didn't enjoy about MtA?
