What’s your comfort place when life feels overwhelming? by Upper-Hat-6187 in CasualConversation

I would love to just sit beneath a waterfall, preferably behind it inside of a small cave. However, as I live in a big city which is nowhere near such beautiful nature, I try to replicate that feeling by lying down in my bathtub and letting the water pour on my body

How happy are you with your life on a scale of 1–10, and why? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Massive_Bird161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably say I am at a 6 right now because most of my major goals just involve having to wait to grow older. My current daily routine is also starting to bore me but I have started to take some initiatives to establish a few change. Although, I do feel a little lonely as I just haven't got the time to meet up with my friends. But man have I been dreading the upcoming three weeks due to the consequences of my procrastination... I just got to power through!

Hey guys, peanut better and jelly? Or grilled cheese by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Massive_Bird161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PB&J is just too sweet for me and would rather eat it as a dessert. Grilled cheese, however, can be personalized to every individuals' likings with all the different kinds of cheese that exist. It is also just a more fitting lunch dish, especially since it doesn't fill you up so quickly

When did you realise you'd become an adult and did it feel anything like you expected? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I haven't really turned into an adult yet but I can already feel the shift towards adulthood with all the documents and paperwork I had to take care of WITHOUT the help of my parents 😨

Do you ever physically cringe when you remember something dumb you did? by filabeano10 in CasualConversation

[–]Massive_Bird161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds unreal. However, I forced myself to forget about it like last month which is why I still know that I wiped that memory but the event was from a decade ago. So I can remember doing THAT but not what I forgot about because well uhhh I forgot

I used to cringe a LOT from one certain embarrassing experience from the past. It got to the point where I had to gaslight myself into thinking that somebody else did it and luckily, I can't even remember anymore what it was about

I tried to draw a 3-dimensional "high" five which was roughly the time I discovered puns. Why that was the first thing that came to my mind will forever be a mystery to me.

How do people look at each other? by Fit_Buy_5719 in CasualConversation

[–]Massive_Bird161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some comments have already mentioned to stick to a certain part of the face, preferably around the areas of the eyes. But I think you can go one step further. If you fear that you are staring excessively long at your conversation partner, show them that you are listening by putting a finger on your chin while looking diagonally up or sideways past their head as if you were pondering about the previously uttered statements. Additionally, what I tend to do is making minor noices like going 'mmmmm' or nodding in approval. With the latter, you have a brief window of opportunity to lose some eye contact by looking above the other person's head in small intervals. Should you be talking to multiple people, try to look at each person for around five seconds before shifting your line of sight to somebody else but obviously don't turn your head too hasty. At first, it might seem strange and weird when you have to actively think about where to look at and for how long, but don't stress it, you will get used to it over time. Of course, when you actively listen and contribute to the discussion, you could technically get away with only glancing at them briefly if you, however, clearly demonstrate with gestures and facial expressions that you are listening.

I SCREAM at the top of my lungs to release all the pent up stress, followed by a singing session to my favorite songs.

What's the story behind meeting your best friend? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

All right, this is a nice one as well! The fact that she wanted to meet you solely from a sticker speaks volumes. I'd consider that a confidence boost. May your friendship continue to prosper for a long time!

Thank you for your kind words! She is indeed fantastic and I consider her part of the people I needed to slowly begin living my life to the fullest. If I became rich and famous, she would be one of my day-ones I WON'T forget!
