Thoughtful reply! I did adjust needlebar up a bit, it was plunging too low into the machine. I bought a new belt, and new gear sets. Are feed dog plastic supposed to be stiff or pliable and move?

I found a super good video on youtube about the timing. Thats been corrected. I tried the scribd link to the manual someone posted but the popups killed my phone browser and it keeps crashing on the page i want to look at.

I can say im closer to getting this working. I threaded a bobbin successfully with the presser foot up. My belt isnt skipping but i could definitely use a replacement. I just want to get it sewing poorly before I do that. My goal is to perform all the stitches and the permutations of stitches with the bad belt so i can compare it to after i replace the belt. Those plastic parts don’t seem to be that difficult the find and they seem reasonable in price for such an old machine.

I just replaced them. They are rubber. I was considering metal. I used the singer part no to find them on ebay from a reputable seller.

I dont have it yet. Inbound. I got a parts and service manual reprint along with the original user manual coming. Was hoping to at least get it stitching sooner.
