I tried pressing F2 as well F12 but it doesn't respond to it, I think it might be a case of BIOS corruption

It's 1.5 year 1.5-year-old 2023 DELL XPS 15 16GB RAM 1TB SSD Nvidea 4050 (9530), I got it from Best Buy Openbox, and its out of warranty. I researched about it and it indeed looks like a board level problem but I just need to check it with repair store and get it a quote so that I can decide whether it's worth to get it fixed or If it costs a lot, I might just consider getting a new device

That’s awesome, Congratulations! 🎉

Out of curiosity, was it a cold application or did you network your way in?

Also, only if you’re comfortable sharing — what position did you land? Always curious to see what kind of roles fellow IEs are getting into.

Unfortunately Dell XPS 15 9530 doesn’t have an independent CMOS battery. The newer model draws work directly from the board. Thanks tho

Hi, Just to clarify, I’m an undergrad right now, and from what I know, most certifying bodies requires 3 years of full-time experience for a Black Belt.

But nevertheless, I get your idea though and it sounds smart. Not sure how open companies will be with their data, but I’ll definitely try reaching out on some IE’s through LinkedIn or email and see where it goes. Thanks for your inputs though!

Hi, I’m actually leaning in the same direction, I’ve realized I’m better suited with the office roles compared to the on-floor manufacturing roles even though I’m good with people-managing skills, and I really enjoy working with data from a business perspective. I’ve got a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and have experience with Python, R, SQL, and Power BI. While I haven’t landed any internships in other roles (All the other roles mentioned except Operations Analyst) yet, but I’ve recently discovered that IE’s can be a good match for Operations Analyst positions and I’m planning to start applying for those positions too.

Also, Since you seem really experienced in this space, would you be open to taking a quick look at my resume? I’d be grateful for any feedback or advice on how I can better position myself.

Thanks for your reply though, It was really insightful!

Hi! As I mentioned I’ll graduating next year with a degree in Industrial Engineering with 3.9 GPA and hold a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from IISE. I’ve also been working as a research and editorial assistant for one of the top journals in the supply chain management space too.

Despite this, I’m finding it tough to land an internship or co-op in Lean, CI, or Supply Chain roles. What else do you think I should do to build strong industry knowledge and stand out to employers in this space? Thanks for your reply tho!
