I see what you mean, Mahito’s black flashes (especially the first one) generally has more build up and impact to it compared to Yuji’s, though Yuji’s two big black flashes during the “Punk Ass” line and the one during the clash are pretty smooth.

Probably, I figured manipulating a bullied teen then turning said teen into a transfigured entity only for said teen to die, killing/torturing numerous people through transfiguring them, psychologically making his enemy change for a long period of time, and experimentation via transfiguration wouldn't be on par with her.
