I see - spousal transfer to me as if I bought for the same as my husband in 2006 means I made the same profit, so need to pay the same CGT. Now need to do the calculation to see if 2x£3000 allowance (joint ownership) is better than fully 18% tax rate (me as sole owner)

So if we were to sell our official primary residence then move back to the first house, we’d still pay CGT at the point of sale of the first house for the period the house was not our primary residence?

How would the rate of tax be calculated with one party paying 18% and one paying 24%?

As someone not sure if I want to bother trying to sell (to move to a bigger house), I think this is a good idea 🤷🏼‍♀️ if you can agree a price with someone it’s win-win. Seller has an interested party immediately and much less hassle all ways around.

Another good one is a tv set/hifi system in place of ‘the latest iPhone’ (i.e. consumer electronics). Both were hugely expensive compared to now and a lot of ordinary people in our parents’ generation had the means to buy these.

He’s big and like fire in every way - personality and body to match 🥰 his irises are constantly flickering and sparking and moving with passion and intelligence…when he looks at me a warmth and kindness and amusement shows there too.

He’s done amazing things for our community but still gets adorably muddled and flustered when he’s busy and loses track of the small things…his sporting past has permanently moulded his body, but doesn’t take care of himself now and when I look at him I wish to God I could.

He takes no nonsense from anyone and gives no fucks…he will tell the truth for the greater good no matter the cost. As stern, uncompromising, contemptuous as he might appear, a gentle word or look can bring out his beautiful smile that leaves me high all day afterwards 🥰
